1.1.1 List of PFM - Web Console windows

The following table lists and describes the windows displayed in PFM - Web Console:

Window name

Description

Login window

Used to log into PFM - Web Console.

Main window

Main window of PFM - Web Console that is displayed when you log into PFM - Web Console.

From this window you can display any of the various windows used for operation monitoring of monitoring agents.

You can also display the operating status of all agents under the directory selected in the navigation frame (Display Summary).

Agents window

Displays a monitoring agents tree. This window enables you to do the following:

  • Display reports on each monitoring agent.

  • Check the status of alarms and the event history.

  • Check the health check status.

  • Add a new monitoring agent and create a tree of monitoring agents.

  • Bind monitoring agents and alarm tables.

  • Display combination reports and register bookmarks.

  • Create reports and alarms by using Quick Guide.

  • Suspend or resume monitoring.

  • Check the alarm application status, and apply alarm information.

To display this window: In the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Agents tab.

Reports window

Displays a reports tree.

This window enables you to create, copy, and edit reports.

To display this window: In the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Reports tab.

Bookmarks window

Displays a bookmarks tree.

This window enables you to manage bookmarks or combination bookmarks by changing, editing, and deleting the names of bookmarks. The window also enables you to display a View Report window by clicking a bookmark or to display a combination report window by clicking a combination bookmark.

To display the Bookmarks window: In the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Bookmarks tab.

Alarms window

Displays an alarms tree.

This window enables you to create new alarm tables and alarms and to edit them. It also enables you to import and export alarms.

This window is displayed only when the login user has the administrator user permission.

To display this window: In the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Alarms tab.

Services window

Manages the services of the Performance Management programs. This window enables you to display, edit, and distribute properties, and to stop services.

This window is displayed only when the login user has the administrator user permission.

To display this window: In the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Services tab.

Users window

Manages Performance Management users. This window enables you to create user accounts and to change user account information.

This window is displayed only when the authentication mode of the user account is PFM authentication mode, and the login user has the administrator user permission.

To display this window: In the navigation frame of any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Users tab.

Alarm Table Bind Settings [Select Alarm Tables]

Used to bind (associate) or unbind a monitoring agent and multiple alarm tables. This window is displayed when the functionality for binding an alarm to multiple alarm tables is enabled.

Bind Alarm Table [Select Alarm Tables]

Used to bind (associate) a monitoring agent and alarm tables. This window is displayed when the functionality for binding an alarm to multiple alarm tables is disabled.

Note

When you use Internet Explorer to display any of the following windows, you can display the menu bar and the status bar. However, the menu bar and the status bar in the Web browser will not appear if you choose to hide them in the Main window of PFM - Web Console.

  • View Report window

  • Combination Report window

  • Event monitor window

  • Event history window

  • Properties window for alarms

  • Properties window for reports

Notes:
  • The following problems might occur in PFM - Web Console:

    - No tree tabs are displayed in the navigation frame of the main window.

    - In the New Report > Field window of the report wizard, the bottom part of the description is not displayed.

    - In the Edit Report Definition tab of the Reports window, the bottom part of the field description is not displayed. If the above problems occur, adjust the width and height of the window by changing the divider position or window size.

  • If the next operation is performed before the results of the window operation are applied to the window, the KAVJS4007-E message might appear depending on the server status and the timing of the operation.

    If such a temporary error occurs, log in to the PFM - Web Console again. If you are able to verify that the same error message has not appeared, you can use the product as is.
