1.4.16 Monitoring Suspension Settings window

The Monitoring Suspension Settings window allows you to check the monitoring status of hosts and monitoring agents, and to configure the settings to suspend or resume monitoring. To display this window, from the method frame in the Agents window, choose Monitoring Suspension Settings.

The following figure shows the Monitoring Suspension Settings window.

The following describes the displayed items:

Refresh

Refreshes the information in the Monitoring Suspension Settings window.

Change Settings button

Displays the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window. In this window, you can configure the settings to suspend or resume monitoring.

This button is disabled in the following cases:

  • The processing to suspend or resume monitoring has been performed.

  • You have logged in as a role other than the administrator role.

  • In a multiple-monitoring environment, the PFM-Manager for connection destination is on the secondary host.

Display target

Enables you to select from the pull-down menu the type of agents to be displayed in the table frame. The following types are available:

  • All agents (default)

  • Agents in the monitored state

  • Agents in the suspended state

  • Agents in the unknown state

Table frame

Displays a list of hosts and agents based on the items selected in the navigation frame and Display target.

The following describes the items displayed in the table frame:

Open All button

Displays hosts and agents.

Close All button

Displays hosts only.

List of hosts and agents

Lists the hosts where the agents selected in the navigation frame are installed, and the hosts that are monitored by the agents selected in the navigation frame.

As the agents under each host, agents installed on the host and remote agents that monitor the host are displayed.

The following describes the displayed items:

Host line

Displays the icon indicating a host ([Figure]) and the host name. Clicking this expands or closes the agent lines.

Agent line

Displays the icon indicating each agent and the agent name. If the product name display functionality is enabled, the name is displayed in the product name format.

Agents that are not selected in the navigation frame are displayed as disabled.

For Remote Monitor, clicking the agent name expands or closes the list of remote agents under Remote Monitor. The remote agents under Remote Monitor are displayed by the icons that indicate the following monitoring status and the agent names.

Monitoring status

Displays the monitoring status. The following describes the displayed items:

Host line

Displays the monitoring status of the host and agents under the host.

[Figure]: Indicates that all the agents under the host are in the monitored state.

[Figure]: Indicates that the host or all the agents under the host are in the monitoring suspended state.

[Figure]: Indicates that some of the agents under the host are in the monitored state, and some are in the monitoring suspended state.

[Figure], [Figure], [Figure]: Indicates that there are one or more agents where it is unknown whether the monitoring status has been changed.

Agent line

Displays the monitoring status of the agent.

[Figure]: Indicates that the agent is in the monitored state.

[Figure]: Indicates that the agent is in the monitoring suspended state, and storage of operating information is also suspended.

[Figure]: Indicates that the agent is in the monitoring suspended state, but operating information is continuously stored.

[Figure], [Figure], [Figure]: Indicates an agent where it is unknown whether the monitoring status has been changed.

Settings - Monitoring suspension

Displays whether monitoring is suspended by specifying hosts or agents

Host line

[Figure]: Indicates that this host is specified to configure the settings to suspend monitoring.

Blank: Indicates that this host is not specified to configure the settings to suspend monitoring.

[Figure], [Figure]: Indicates that there are one or more agents where it is unknown whether the monitoring status has been changed.

Agent line

[Figure]: Indicates that this agent is specified to configure the settings to suspend monitoring.

Blank: Indicates that this agent is not specified to configure the settings to suspend monitoring.

[Figure], [Figure]: Indicate an agent where it is unknown whether the monitoring status has been changed.

Settings - DB storage continuation

When monitoring is suspended, this item displays whether the settings are configured so that storage of operating information is continued and monitoring is suspended by selecting Continue recording performance data to StoreDB.

Host line

[Figure]: Indicates that the settings are configured so that storage of operating information is continued and monitoring is suspended.

Blank: Indicates that the settings are configured so that storage of operating information is also suspended.

[Figure], [Figure]: Indicates that there are one or more agents where it is unknown whether the monitoring status has been changed.

Agent line

[Figure]: Indicates that the settings are configured so that storage of operating information is continued and monitoring is suspended.

Blank: Indicates that the settings are configured so that storage of operating information is also suspended.

[Figure], [Figure]: Indicates an agent where it is unknown whether the monitoring status has been changed.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window

The Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window allows you to configure the settings to suspend or resume monitoring for hosts and monitoring agents.

The following figure shows the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window.

The following describes the displayed items:

Cancel button

Cancels the operation, and displays the Monitoring Suspension Settings window.

Next > button

Displays the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Changes window.

This button is enabled when the target to set is selected from the initial display.

Settings types (the Select the processing type for the setup. field)
Suspend monitoring

Select this radio button to suspend monitoring. The radio button is selected by default.

Resume monitoring

Select this radio button to resume monitoring.

Continue recording performance data to StoreDB

Select this check box to continue storage of operating information while monitoring is suspended.

The check box is enabled only if Suspend monitoring is selected.

Settings unit (the Select the processing unit for the setup. field)
Hosts

Select this radio button to suspend or resume monitoring by selecting hosts. The radio button is selected by default.

Agents

Select this radio button to suspend or resume monitoring by selecting agents.

Target to set (the Select the targets to setup. field)

Displays the same information as that displayed in the table frame of the Monitoring Suspension Settings window. The following describes the items that are different from those in the Monitoring Suspension Settings window.

Select All button

Selects all of the displayed check boxes

UnSelect All button

Clears all of the displayed check boxes

Check box (for the host line)

Select this check box if you want to suspend or resume monitoring of all the agents under the host.

The check box appears only if Hosts is selected as the settings unit. The check box is not selected by default.

Check box (for the agent line)

Select the check box for the agent for which you want to suspend or resume monitoring.

The check box appears only if Agents is selected as the settings unit. By default, the check boxes are selected as follows:

  • If you select agents in the navigation frame, the check boxes for the agents are selected.

  • If you select the root or a folder in the navigation frame, the check boxes for all agents under the root or the folder are selected.

(2) Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Changes window

The Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Changes window allows you to check the items you set in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window.

The following figure shows the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Changes window.

The following describes the displayed items:

Cancel button

Cancels the operation, and displays the Monitoring Suspension Settings window

< Back button

Displays the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window

Execute button

Executes the processing to suspend or resume monitoring, and display the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Results window.

Table frame

Displays the same information as that in the table frame of the Monitoring Suspension Settings window. The following describes the items that are different from those in the Monitoring Suspension Settings window.

Check box (for the host line)

The settings specified in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window are displayed as disabled.

The check box is displayed only if you select Hosts as the settings unit in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window.

Check box (for the agent line)

The settings specified in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window are displayed as disabled.

The check box is displayed only if you select Agents as the settings unit in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window.

Monitoring status

For the hosts and agents whose monitoring status will be changed based on the settings specified in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window, the background color is changed and the icon indicating the monitoring status after the status change is displayed.

Settings - Monitoring suspension

For the hosts or agents whose check box is selected in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window, the background color is changed and the following is displayed based on the settings.

[Figure]: Displayed if you select Suspend monitoring as the settings type.

Blank: Displayed if you select Resume monitoring as the settings type.

Settings - DB storage continuation

For the hosts or agents whose check box is selected in the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Change Settings window, the background color is changed and the following is displayed based on the settings.

[Figure]: Displayed if you select Suspend monitoring as the settings type, and Continue recording performance data to StoreDB.

Blank: Displayed if you select Suspend monitoring as the settings type, but do not select Continue recording performance data to StoreDB, or if you select Resume monitoring as the settings type.

(3) Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Results window

The Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Results window displays the execution results of configuring the settings to suspend or resume monitoring.

The following figure shows the Monitoring Suspension Settings > Check Results window.

OK button

Displays the Monitoring Suspension Settings window.

This button is not displayed while the settings are taking time.
