1.3 Main window

This is the Main window of PFM - Web Console. It is displayed when a user logs in successfully to PFM - Web Console. This window consist of four frames:

The following describes the frames and items displayed in the Main window:

Menu bar frame

Displays a menu that is common to all PFM - Web Console windows.

The following describes the items displayed in the menu bar frame:

Event Monitor

Displays the Event Monitor window.

Change Password

Displays the Change Password window.

Environment Settings

Displays the Environment Settings window.

About

Displays the About window.

Help

Displays the Help window.

Logout

Logs out from PFM - Web Console. Choosing this item displays a message box for confirming your intention to log out.

Navigation frame

The navigation frame displays the items (tabs) described below. Selecting an item displays the corresponding window.

Agents

Displays the Agents window.

Reports

Displays the Reports window. You can use the initialization file (config.xml) to specify whether to display the Reports window for a user who logs in with an account that has general user permissions only. For details about the initialization file (config.xml), see Initialization file (config.xml).

Bookmarks

Displays the Bookmarks window.

Alarms

Displays the Alarms window. This item is displayed only when the login user has the administrator user permission.

Services

Displays the Services window. This item is displayed only when the login user has the administrator user permission.

Users

Displays the Users window. This item is displayed only when the login user has the administrator user permission.

Refresh

Refreshes the information displayed in the window.

An icon is displayed to the left of each configuration component. The following table shows the icons and describes each.

Component

Description

root([Figure])

The root of each tree. You cannot change the root name.

  • For the agents tree

    Products is displayed as the root name for the monitoring trees for products.

    If you set business groups for operation, you can also display the tree for each business group. When you display the tree for a business group, the business group name is displayed as the root name.

    Also, if you monitor the trees created for each login user, User Agents (login-user-name) is displayed as the root name.

    You can select which tree you want to display from Indication Settings in the navigation frame of the Agents window.

  • For the reports tree

    User Reports or System Reports is displayed as the root name.

  • For the bookmarks tree

    Bookmarks is displayed as the root name.

  • For the alarms tree

    User Alarms or Template Alarms is displayed as the root name.

  • For the services tree

    System is displayed as the root name.

    If set business groups for operation, you can display a tree for each business group. If you display the tree for an application group, the business group name is displayed as the root name.

  • For the users tree

    Users is displayed as the root name.

When multiple selections are possible, this icon indicates that there are multiple selectable nodes under the applicable folder, and all selectable nodes under the root folder (all folders down to the lowest tree) are selected.

When multiple selections are possible, this icon indicates that there are multiple selectable nodes under the applicable folder, and some of the selectable nodes under the root folder (all folders toward the lowest tree) are selected.

Folder ([Figure])

A component for grouping agents or reports.

When you create trees, you can create a maximum of eight trees under the root (root, agent, report, and alarm trees are not included).

When multiple selections are possible, this icon indicates that there are multiple selectable nodes under the applicable folder, and all selectable nodes under the root folder (all folders down to the lowest tree) are selected.

Bookmark folder ([Figure])

A component for grouping bookmarks.

Alarm folder ([Figure])

A component for grouping alarms.

Service folder ([Figure])

A component for grouping services.

User folder ([Figure])

A component for grouping users.

There are three folders: management user, ordinary users, and business group ordinary users. Business group ordinary users is displayed when the access control functionality is enabled.

Agent ([Figure])

PFM - Agent that is connected to PFM - Manager.

The service ID is displayed as the agent name.

Indicates normal.

Indicates warning.

Indicates abnormal.

Indicates that monitoring is suspended.

Indicates that the status of the agent is either of the following, and that there is no substance:

  • Agent service information was deleted, after which the PFM - Web Console was updated by the jpcconf service sync command.

  • Because of configuration changes in a business group, the user's reference privilege for agents was deleted.

This icon is displayed only when User Agents is selected for Indication Settings in the navigation frame of the Agents window. You cannot perform any agent operation when this icon is displayed.

Remote Monitor Collector service ([Figure])

PFM - RM service that collects performance data.

The Remote Monitor Collector service is displayed as instance-name[name-of-host-on-which-PFM - RM-runs].

Remote agent ([Figure])

Agent that monitors programs managed by PFM - RM. A remote agent is created for each monitoring target program for PFM - RM.

A remote agent is displayed as instance-name[monitoring-target-name@name-of-host-on-which-PFM - RM-runs].

Group agent ([Figure])

Indicates an agent that monitors multiple PFM - RM monitoring target programs concurrently.

A group agent is displayed as instance-name[group-name@name-of-host-on-which-PFM - RM-runs].

Report ([Figure])

Indicates a report. The report can be either a PFM - Agent report or a PFM - RM report.

Bookmark ([Figure])

Indicates a bookmark.

Combination bookmark([Figure])

Indicates a combination bookmark.

Baseline([Figure])

Indicates a baseline.

Alarm table ([Figure])

Indicates an alarm table. If the table is under Template Alarms, its name begins with PFM.

Alarm ([Figure])

Indicates an alarm.

User ([Figure])

Indicates a user.

Method frame

Displays the actions that are available in the selected target window. The items displayed in the method frame correspond to the item chosen in the navigation frame.

Information frame

Displays the results of the operation executed in the window that is displayed by choosing an item in the navigation frame.
