1.5 Reports window

The Reports window is used to create, copy, and edit reports. To display this window, in the navigation frame in any PFM - Web Console window, choose the Reports tab.

If, in the initialization file (config.xml), there is a setting so that the Reports window will not be displayed, the Reports window will not be displayed when you log in with an account that has general user permissions only. For details about the initialization file (config.xml), see Initialization file (config.xml).

The following figure shows the Reports window.

The following describes the displayed items:

Menu bar frame

Displays a menu that is common to all windows.

For details, see the description of the menu bar frame in 1.3 Main window.

Navigation frame

Displays report definitions hierarchically.

Except for the following items, the display items are the same as the items in the navigation frame of the Main window. For details, see 1.3 Main window.

Text box

Use this text box to filter reports by keywords. Specify a character string of 1 to 1,024 characters to filter the reports that will be displayed. To perform a multi-keyword search by using AND, delimit keywords by using a single-byte space, a two-byte space, or a tab. A delimiter is counted as one word. The maximum number of words that can be entered as filtering keywords is 100.

Filter button

Filter reports by using the string specified in the text box.

Clear button

Clears the filtering status and the filtering condition.

Reports tree

The roots are User Reports and System Reports#. The report folders and reports are displayed in alphabetical order beginning on the second level of the hierarchy. The following describes the two roots:

  • User Reports

    Displays hierarchically the report folders and reports created by the user.

  • System Reports

    Displays hierarchically the report folders and reports of the monitoring template installed at the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM installation.

When the path to the reports tree is displayed, User Reports and System Reports may be represented as Reports.

Icons

An icon is displayed to the left of each component of the reports tree. For details about icons, see Table 1-10 Configuration component icons and their meaning.

These icons have the following meanings:

  • [Figure]: Indicates the root.

  • [Figure]: Indicates a report folder.

  • [Figure]: Indicates a report. The icon depends on the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM in use.

Note

For PFM - RM or PFM - Agent other than PFM - Agent for Platform, if you have not used the jpcwagtsetup command to register PFM - Agent or PFM - RM, icons for the reports will not be correctly displayed. To correctly display the icons, use the jpcwagtsetup command to register PFM - Agent or PFM - RM, and then restart PFM - Web Console.

Method frame

Displays the operations that can be executed on the reports tree. The operation items that are displayed depend on the selected object.

Show Report Properties

Displays the properties of the selected report definition. When you choose this item, a new window opens and the Properties window appears for the selected report definition.

Copy

Copies the selected report definition. This item is displayed when a report definition is selected in the navigation frame. Selecting this item displays the Copy window. Note that only one report definition can be selected as the copy source.

Delete

Deletes the selected report folder or report definition. This item is displayed when a report folder or a report definition under User Reports is selected in the navigation frame. When a report folder is selected as the deletion target, all the report folders and report definitions under it are also deleted.

When this item is selected, a message box for confirming the deletion intent is displayed.

Edit

Edits the selected report definition. This item is displayed when a report definition under User Reports is selected in the navigation frame. Choosing this item displays the Edit > Name and Type window.

New Folder

Creates a new report folder under the selected object. This item is displayed when User Reports or a report folder under it is selected in the navigation frame. Choosing this item displays the New Folder window.

New Report

Creates a new report under the selected object. This item is displayed when User Reports or a report folder under User Reports is selected in the navigation frame. Choosing this item displays the New Report > Name and Type window.

Rename

Renames the selected report folder or report definition. This item is displayed when a report folder or report definition under User Reports is selected in the navigation frame. Choosing this item displays the Rename window.

Export

Exports the selected report folder or report definition.

If you select User Reports, all definitions are exported.

This item is displayed when User Reports, a report folder, or a report definition is selected in the navigation frame.

Choosing this item executes the export operation and saves the export results in a specified folder.

The export operation executes even when User Reports is selected but there are no reports or report folders defined under User Reports.

Import

Imports the definitions in a specified import file.

Choosing this item displays the Import window.

Information frame

Displays the results of the operation selected in the method frame on the object selected in the navigation frame.

Organization of this section
