5.9.1 Types of tasks

This section describes the tasks, the details of each task, and the default when each task is enabled that are set in Windows Task Scheduler.

(1) Name and details of each task

This subsection describes the name and details of each task. Do not change the files that are used by each task.

Note
Do not change the access definition file that is used by the above tasks. To add a new task, create a new access definition file.

The following table describes the return values for the Notification of WSUS updates task.

Table 5-25 Return values for the Notification of WSUS updates task

Return value Description
0x0 Normal termination
0x1 No applicable data was found.
0x2 No mail information is set.
0x3 No URL is set for the WSUS server.
0x4 Cannot communicate with the WSUS server.
0x5 or higher Terminated with some other error.

(2) Default settings for the tasks

The table below lists the default schedule settings that take effect when the various tasks are enabled.

Notification of invalid contract information 6:00 a.m. on the first of every month
Notice of license excess 5:30 a.m. every Monday
Totals number of licenses 5:30 a.m. every Monday
Notification of unauthorized install 5:30 a.m. every Tuesday
Delete change log 6:00 a.m. on the first of every month
Take inventory 5:30 a.m. every Wednesday
Take operation history 0:00 a.m. every Saturday
Acquiring directory information 0:00 a.m. every Sunday
Take node information 5:30 a.m. every Friday
Synchronization of WSUS at user-specified timing 5:00 a.m. on the first of every month
Notification of WSUS updates 6:00 a.m. on the first of every month

Adjust the schedule so that multiple tasks are not executed concurrently.
