Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Administration Guide

1.2 List of JP1/AO features

JP1/AO provides a number of features in several categories. In the first category are automation features that define and execute services that automate work tasks, and in the second are resource management features that manage users, connection destinations, and other resources. The third category are features that link with other products, including email notification when errors occur, and direct access URL which lets you access a specific part of the user interface directly.

The features of JP1/AO are listed in the tables below.

For details on each feature, see the location in the Refer to column.

Table 1‒1: Automation features

Feature

Description

Refer to

Service template management

Adds service templates to JP1/AO. You can also delete service templates that are no longer required, or create custom service templates.

1.3 Managing service templates

Service management

Uses service templates to add services to be executed. You can also edit added services, or delete services that are no longer required.

1.4 Managing services

Service execution

Executes services to automate work tasks. Each time a user submits a service for execution, he or she enters the required property values and specifies the execution timing. The required property values differ among services. When you execute a service, a corresponding task is generated and processing begins at the time determined by the execution timing.

1.5 Submitting services for execution

Task management

Checks the status and progress of tasks, and controls task processing. Tasks that have finished processing can be moved from the Tasks list to the History list.

1.6 Managing tasks

Setting of shared service properties

Sets shared service properties common to more than one service. You can also set the shared built-in service properties defined in advance in JP1/AO as common settings within JP1/AO.

1.7 Setting shared service properties

Setting of preset properties

Sets in a single operation a set of property values appropriate for the user environment and the mode of operation when services are added or edited.

1.8 Setting preset properties

Categories

You can categorize services and tasks by purpose, type, and other criteria, and display them in a hierarchy.

Description

User management

Registers, edits, and deletes users who log in to JP1/AO. You can also use this feature to change user passwords and the status of user locks.

1.10 Managing users

Group management

Creates, edits, and deletes resource groups and user groups.

By allocating resource groups to user groups, you can individually control the level of access each user registered in the user group has to resources. By allocating roles to resource groups, you can also control the features each user is able to use.

1.11 Managing groups

Connection destination management

Manages resources in the context of connection destinations. By registering a resource as a connection destination in JP1/AO, you can restrict access to connection destinations based on the resource group to which a task belongs.

Feature

Description

Refer to

Linking with JP1/Base authentication

You can manage JP1/AO users and perform user authentication by linking with the authentication functionality of JP1/Base.

1.14 Linking with JP1/Base authentication

Linking with Active Directory

By linking with Active Directory, you can use users and groups managed by Active Directory in JP1/AO. Note that only when JP1/AO uses Active Directory as the LDAP directory server, you can link with Active Directory.

1.15 Linking with Active Directory

Linking with JP1/IM event monitoring

By linking JP1/AO with JP1/IM, you can centrally manage the JP1 events issued by JP1/AO from JP1/IM.

1.16 Linking with JP1/IM event monitoring

Linking with JP1/AJS3

By linking JP1/AO with JP1/AJS3, you can execute JP1/AO services or stop the execution of tasks from the JP1/AJS3 server.

1.17 Linking with JP1/AJS3

Email notification

This feature notifies you by email when a task fails or enters an abnormal status.

1.18 Email notification
