Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Administration Guide

1.12 Managing connection destination

In JP1/AO, the host to which a service connects to carry out operations is called a connection destination. By defining connection destinations in JP1/AO, when you submit services for execution, you can restrict access to connection destinations based on the resource group to which the tasks belong.

Important note

Immediately after installation, JP1/AO provides connection destination definitions that allow resource groups to connect to all connection destination hosts from All Resources services. This means that there are no restrictions on the connection destination hosts to which All Resources services can connect.

To impose restrictions on the hosts to which tasks can connect, you need to edit or delete the connection destination definition created at installation, and register connection destination definitions that limit connections to specific hosts.

To use the features for managing connection destinations, register the connection destinations to which you want to allow access in the Connection Destinations view. You can then edit registered connection destinations as needed.

Connection destination definition management lets you:

Create connection destination definitions

You can define and register connection destinations.

The definition of a connection destination consists of connection information such as a host name or IP address, and authentication information such as the user ID and password used to log in to the remote host.

Edit connection destination definitions

You can edit the definitions of connection destinations registered in the JP1/AO system.

Delete connection destination definitions

You can delete connection destinations registered in the JP1/AO system.
