11.1 Defining connection destinations

This section describes how to create a connection destination definition and register it in JP1/AO as a connection destination. Registering a connection destination in JP1/AO lets you restrict access to destination hosts based on the resource group to which a task belongs.

Who can perform this task:

Users in the Admin role or the Develop role

To create a connection destination:

  1. In the left pane of the Administration window, select Connection Destinations.

  2. In the right pane (Connection Destination view) of the Administration window, click the Create Connection Destination button.

  3. In the Create Connection Destination dialog box, specify a type, destination, and resource group.

  4. If you want to register authentication information for the connection destination, select Set in the Authentication Information list box, select a protocol, and enter a user ID and password.

    If you do not want to register authentication information, select Do not set in the Authentication Information list box.

  5. Click the OK button.

  6. In the Information dialog box, click the OK button.

The connection destination is added to the list of destinations in the Connection Destination view.
