1.4 Managing services
You can add services to be executed based on service templates that have been added to JP1/AO. You can also edit a service you added, and delete services that are no longer required.
The following figure shows the general procedure for automating operating procedures, and how it relates to service management.

Service management functionality lets you perform the following tasks:
- Adding services
-
You can add services for execution by the JP1/AO system. You add a service by entering property values in a service template.
You can add more than one service from the same service template.
- Editing services
-
You can go back and edit the parameters you set when adding a service. However, you cannot change resource groups (groupings of services and their connection destinations) after a service has been registered. To change a resource group, you need to delete the service and then add it again.
You can edit the properties of an active service, even if there are tasks in the JP1/AO system that were generated from that service. Any changes you make do not apply to tasks that are already generated, or to existing task histories.
- Deleting services
-
You can delete services from the JP1/AO system when they are no longer required.
You can only delete a service when there are no tasks in the JP1/AO system that were generated from that service. If such tasks exist, move them to the task history list before deleting the service. You can delete a service for which history entries exist in the history list.
- Outputting (exporting) service lists
-
You can output a list of services to a file in CSV format. Uses for this file include as a reference for managing services, and to investigate which services are required in your system.
