Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Administration Guide

1.1.4 Basic tasks in review phase and post-review preparation phase

Review JP1/AO operation when changes are made to the operating procedures you are automating, or new procedures are added. You can then add or change services and settings based on the results of the review process.

The following describes the basic flow of operations in the post-review preparation phase of a JP1/AO system. The tasks in the example below are shared between two users: User A who is assigned the Admin role and has User Management permission, and User M who is assigned the Modify role. When these operations are completed, you can resume day-to-day use of JP1/AO with the results of the review phase implemented.

Tasks performed by User A (User Management permission and Admin role)

  1. Add new versions of service templates.

You can use an upgraded service template alongside an old version of the same template.

  2. Other miscellaneous changes, as follows:

    • Delete old versions of service templates for which you have no further use.

    • Change the values of service share properties as needed.

    • Register or delete users as needed.

    • Create, edit, or delete resource groups as needed.

    • Create, edit, or delete user groups as needed.

    • Create, edit, or delete definitions of connection destinations as needed.

Tasks performed by User M (Modify role)

  1. Add services based on the upgraded service templates.

If you elect to keep the service name used by the old version, specify the old service name as the name of the new service.

You cannot use the same service name more than once in a given resource group. If you want to keep the old version of a service, rename the old version first.

  2. Set service properties.

A new service does not inherit the property values of old versions of the same service. If you want to keep the same settings as the old version, set the same values in the properties of the new service.
