Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Administration Guide

1.3 Managing service templates

This functionality lets you add service templates to JP1/AO. You can also use it to delete service templates that are no longer needed and to create custom service templates.

The following figure shows the general procedure for automating operating procedures, and how it relates to service template management.

Figure 1‒2: Flow of operating procedure automation (service template management)

[Figure]

The service template management functionality lets you perform the following tasks:

Add (import) service templates

Add service templates to JP1/AO.

When adding service templates, you can specify a zip file containing a set of service templates, or an individual service template file (file-name.st).

Delete service templates

Delete a service template that is no longer needed from JP1/AO.

If you have added services based on a service template, delete the service before you delete the service template.

Add preset properties

Preset properties are a collection of property values defined for a particular user environment or mode of operation. When you add or edit a service, you can use preset properties to assign values suited to the user environment or how the system is used. To assign preset properties, create a preset property definition file.

Output (export) service template lists

You can output a list of service templates to a file in CSV format. Uses for this file include as a reference for managing service templates, and to investigate which service templates need to be added to the system.

Create service templates

You can create custom service templates by copying and editing one of the standard service templates provided with JP1/AO. You can also create your own service template without using the service template provided by JP1/AO.

Note that product support applies to service templates provided with JP1/AO (JP1/AO standard-package service templates and JP1/AO Content Set), but not to edited versions of these templates. However, Hitachi will provide support for plug-ins provided by JP1/AO (JP1/AO standard-package plug-ins and JP1/AO Content Set) that are called from an edited service template.

For details about how to create a service template, see the Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Service Template Developer's Guide.
