Job Management Partner 1/Remote Control Description and Operator's Guide
The agent sets and changes the remote control mode after taking into consideration to what extent the controller should be allowed to operate it. If the controller sets a higher level of permission than the agent does, the agent's mode may be modified when establishing a connection. For details on the remote control mode, see 3.1 Remote control mode.
This subsection describes how to change the remote control mode from the agent side, and also describes the procedures for forcibly releasing the connection mode when connecting to a controller in the view mode.
You can change the remote control mode from the dialog box for setting the operating environment. However, the remote control mode cannot be changed while connected to a controller. First disconnect from the controller before changing the mode.
You can change the remote control mode from the following:
After changing the remote control mode from these dialog boxes, exit the agent. The specified remote control mode will take effect after the agent restarts.
You can also make other changes to the operating environment other than changing the remote control mode from these dialog boxes. For details, see 3.4 Setting up the operating environment of Remote Control Agent.
When the agent is in the view mode, you will be unable to perform keyboard and mouse operations on the agent machine. If you do need to operate the local machine from the agent, forcibly release the view mode and set the mode to shared.
Perform one of the following operations to forcibly release the view mode.
When the agent's mode changes from view to shared as a result of the above procedures, the controller is notified of this change.
No changes will appear on the controller in the shared mode; however, on the controller in the exclusive mode, a dialog box appears, asking whether the mode of the controller can be changed from exclusive to shared.
If the controller's user agrees to the change, the controller assumes the shared mode, thus allowing both the agent and controller to operate the agent machine. However, if the controller's user rejects the change, the agent reverts to the view mode, thus preventing the agent's user from operating the local machine.
