In JP1/Remote Control, the machine used to perform a remote control operation is called the controller, and the machine subject to remote control is called the agent.

Programs installed on the controller are collectively called Remote Control Manager, and programs installed on an agent are collectively called Remote Control Agent.

When the controller uses the remote control facility, it can:

• operate the agent screen,
• transfer files,
• supervise agents, and
• record and play back the agent screen display.

The following functions are useful in various situations, such as when you access the help desk.

• Chat function
• Function that allows connection requests to be issued from an agent to a controller

This section outlines these functions. JP1/Remote Control is linked with JP1/IM. Therefore, you can use the remote control functions even from JP1/IM - View, which is the viewer of JP1/IM.
