1.2.1 Operating the agent screen

You can connect the controller to the agent and call up its screen, thus allowing you to perform operations in the window. The following figure shows the agent screen called up in a Remote Control Manager window (the Remote Control window).

The controller can perform the following operations on the agent. For details on each operation, see 4.2 Performing remote control operations.

Keyboard and mouse operations
You can enter text, drag icons, and perform other keyboard and mouse operations on the agent screen, just as if you were using your local PC screen. However, for shortcut keys, e.g., Ctrl + Tab, you will need to assign buttons as action keys rather than using the actual shortcut keys on your keyboard.

Shutting down and rebooting the agent
You can shut down or reboot the agent from the controller. You can also issue an instruction to shut down and switch off a remote agent PC if the agent PC is equipped with a power-off functionality. If you specify the command to reconnect to the agent upon restart, the controller will reconnect the agent automatically, thus allowing you to continue remote control operations.

Transferring clipboard data
You can transfer clipboard data between the controller and agent. This facility allows you to cut and paste text or bitmap images between a document on the controller and a document on the agent, just as if they were on the same machine.

Aborting applications and processes on the agent
For agents on Windows Me or Windows 98, when agent applications and processes hang up while Remote Control is active, you can abort the agent applications and processes from the controller using the Remote Control Process Viewer window displayed on the agent.
