6.11.1 Re-executing tasks
You can re-execute stopped tasks (tasks enter in Completed, Failed, and Canceled status). A task is re-executed with another task ID.
When a task is re-executed, its property value and description are inherited. Now is selected by default for Schedule.
Who can perform this task:
Users in the Admin role, Develop role, Modify role, or Submit role
To re-execute a stopped task:
-
In the left pane of the Tasks window, click All Tasks menu.
-
In the right pane (Tasks view) of the Tasks window, select the task you want to re-execute.
-
From the More Actions menu, choose Resubmit.
- Tip
-
You can perform the same operation by clicking task-name or the Show Task Details button in the Tasks view to open the Task Details dialog box, and then clicking the Resubmit button.
- Important note
-
After a task is generated, if the original service template is modified, an error might appear. If that happens, submit a service for execution in the Submit Service dialog box to set the property value instead of re-execution.
-
In the Submit Service dialog box, edit task information, as necessary.
The following information is set by default in the Name text box:
original-task-name_Resubmit
-
Check the property information, and edit the property value, as necessary.
-
From the Schedule Type list box, select the schedule.
By default, Now is selected.
-
Click the Show Plan button.
-
In the Plan Summary dialog box, check the settings, and then click the Submit button.
A task is generated, and processed according to the specified schedule.
You can check the generated task in the Tasks view.
