5.3 Submitting services for recurring execution

Specify the date and time at which you want the service to start, and how frequently you want the service to recur. JP1/AO generates the task as soon as you submit the service for execution, but does not execute it until the scheduled start time. Additional tasks are generated and processed as the recurring schedule dictates.

You can use JP1/AO in a time zone in which daylight saving time is in effect.

Who can perform this task:

To submit a service for execution regularly in the operation window:

  1. In the Services window, select the service you want to submit for execution, and then click the Submit button.

    Tip

    Alternatively, in the Services window, you can click the name of the service you want to submit for execution.

  2. In the Submit Service dialog box, enter information about the task.

  3. Check the property information, and enter the required values in the relevant fields.

    The required property information depends on the service template.

  4. In the Schedule Type list box, select Recurring, and enter the execution start date.

  5. In the Recurrence Pattern list box, select the frequency at which execution of the service recurs.

  6. Select the date and time of recurrence.

    • If you select Daily:

      Enter the time at which the service recurs.

    • If you select Weekly:

      Enter the day of the week and time of day at which the service recurs.

    • If you select Monthly:

      Enter the day of the month and time of day at which the service recurs. You can schedule the service to execute at the end of each month by selecting the Last day of the month check box and entering the time of day at which execution of the service is to recur.

  7. Click the Show Plan button.

  8. Review the information in the Plan Summary dialog box, and then click the Submit button.

A task is generated and placed in Waiting status.

In the Status column in the Tasks view of the Tasks window, you can make sure the task is in Waiting status. The first of the series of tasks begins processing at the scheduled start time.

To submit a service for execution regularly using a command:

Start the command prompt, and execute the submittask command.

A task is generated when the service is executed, and processing enters the Waiting status.

In the Status column of the Tasks view of the Tasks window, you can make sure the processing is in the Waiting status. The first processing will be executed at the specified time.
