6.11 Redoing tasks
You can redo tasks by re-executing, or retrying them. Each operation is described as follows:
-
Re-execution
You can re-execute stopped tasks (tasks enter in Completed, Failed, and Canceled status) by specifying a property value and another task ID.
-
Retry
You can retry failed tasks. Use the same property value, and the same task ID to retry a task. Tasks are retried when tasks failed due to failures caused by inadequate environment, including temporary network disconnection.
You can retry tasks by performing either of the following methods:
-
Retrying a task from a failed step
-
Retrying a task from the step after the failed one
-
- Important note
-
Identify and resolve the causes of a failure for the applicable step from the execution status and the result of each step in a task, and task log information before retrying tasks.
The subsequent subsections describe how to re-execute, and retry tasks.
