Job Management Partner 1/Remote Control Description and Operator's Guide
This subsection describes points you should keep in mind when installing remote control programs.
- Do not install Remote Control Agent on a machine that already has another company's program(s) providing the remote control facility. Before installing Remote Control Agent, make sure the machine has no such program(s) installed.
- Do not install the remote control facility of JP1/Software Distribution and JP1/Remote Control facilities on the same PC.
- When remote control is in use, the controller cannot display correct information unless the agent machine has a display board chip set and a display driver in one of the correct combinations. See H. Combinations of Display Board Chip Sets and Drivers for the combinations allowed. If the agent uses a different display board, the personal computer on which Remote Control Manager or Remote Control Agent is installed may not work normally.
If the agent is on Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000, there are no longer any restrictions on the combination of the chip set on the display board and the driver.
- The setting of the Windows Driver Signing Options is temporarily changed to Warning during installation of a remote control program. In Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP, the setting might still be Warning even after the installation has been completed. If so, reset the Driver Signing Options manually.
- If you intend to install other products after you have installed Remote Control Agent, restart the computer before installing them.
- If you want to upgrade the OS, uninstall the remote control products before upgrading the OS. For details about how to uninstall the remote control products, see 2.3.4 Uninstallation.
- If you want to link JP1/IM, install Remote Control Manager on the PC on which JP1/IM - View is installed.
- Do not install a remote control product in Windows XP Mode in Windows 7.
- Installing Remote Control Agent in Windows Vista might disable the Windows Aero features. If Windows Aero is disabled, restart the computer to enable the Windows Aero settings again.
- After you install Remote Control Agent on Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2012, the message below might be output to the Windows event (system) log. This does not affect operation.
- The Remote Control Agent service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly.
