You can perform an overwrite installation of the remote control program if you are installing the same version or a later version. If you perform an overwrite installation with the same version, you can change the installation contents or perform a repair installation using the same settings. You can use the maintenance wizard to change the installation contents or to perform a repair installation. For more details, see 2.3.3 Changing the installation contents.

You cannot perform an overwrite installation using a version of the remote control program that is older than the one already installed. Especially, do not perform an overwrite installation of the following because the uninstallation may not succeed:

• Do not perform an overwrite installation of JP1/Remote Control 06-51 or earlier after installing JP1/Remote Control 06-53 or later.
• Do not perform an overwrite installation of JP1/Software Distribution 06-71 or earlier after installing JP1/Software Distribution 07-00 or later.
