5.1 Starting and stopping the system
This section explains how to start and stop the system in the development environment, the editing environment, and the execution environment. There are two ways to start and stop the system. One is by using commands and the other is by using Windows services.
To use commands, the user who will be starting or stopping the system must have Windows administrator privileges. Select the Run as administrator menu to run commands. For details about how to use individual commands used for starting and stopping the system, see Chapter 9. Commands.

If you use a directory server, start and stop the directory server according to the system start and stop as needed. Start the directory server before you start the system and stop the directory server after the system has stopped.
