G. Glossary

application server

A server for processing user operations from web browsers and applying the results to business systems such as database systems.

Automatic Operation Service Execution Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that enables JP1/AO services to be executed directly from Operational Contents.

Automatic Operation Window URL Creation Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform to acquire the URL of JP1/AO and to access from Operational Contents JP1/AO's main window or the Service Execution dialog box.

Branch Node

A node used to branch a process during operations. Branch Nodes are displayed in Navigation Platform windows as diamond shapes.

Content Creator

For cases where JP1/Base is used for user authentication, a user who has the creator's access permissions for Operational Contents.

Content Editor

A user who has the editor's access permissions for Operational Contents.

Content Manager

A user who has the administrator's access permissions for Operational Contents.

Data Store Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform to perform data transfer between Guide Parts.

development environment

An environment in which plugins are developed. JP1/Navigation Platform for Developers is required.

directory server

A server that manages user information, such as user IDs and passwords, that is needed for LDAP authentication. Navigation Platform supports Active Directory.

editing environment

An environment in which Operational Contents are created and edited, and access permissions are set for Operational Contents. JP1/Navigation Platform is required.

embedded database

In this manual, the embedded database means the HiRDB Embedded Server Version 8 that is included in Navigation Platform.

execution environment

An environment that is accessed by users when operations are performd using Operational Contents. JP1/Navigation Platform is required.

export

Outputting of Operational Contents and access permission settings in ZIP format. Exported data can be imported into another environment.

flow part

A part used to create Operational Flows. A part is selected from the Flow pallet and placed in a flow area.

Guide

An explanation of an individual task that is performed in an Operational Content.

Guide Part

A part in which Guides are created. A Guide Part is selected from the Guide pallet and placed in the Guide area.

import

Loading of exported data into the local environment.

Navigation Platform enables Operational Contents and access permission settings to be imported.

I/O Plugin

A plugin used to process information that has been entered in Navigation Platform windows and to determine the information to be displayed in windows. I/O Plugins enable the user to check the integrity of the values entered in Guides, output them to external programs, and record them as logs.

JavaScript Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform so that server-side JavaScript can run on a server or client-side JavaScript can run on a web browser (on a client) by using the value entered into Operational Contents by the user as a parameter.

JP1/AO

JP1/AO is an abbreviation for the JP1 product JP1/Automatic Operation. This product automates system operations that continue to become more sophisticated and complex.

JP1/Base

A program that provides the event service. JP1/Base is used in Navigation Platform for user authentication.

JP1 Event information output plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform to display JP1 event information managed by JP1/IM or JP1/IM-SS, such as event IDs and product names.

JP1 Event Status Change Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform to change the action statuses of JP1 events that are managed by JP1/IM.

JP1/IM-M

JP1/IM-M is an abbreviation for JP1/Integrated Management - Manager and JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager, a product in the JP1 family. It is a program that achieves integrated system management by providing integrated monitoring and operation over the entire system. In this manual, JP1/IM-M and JP1/IM-V are referred to collectively as JP1/IM.

JP1/IM-SS

JP1/IM-SS is an abbreviation for the JP1 products JP1/Service Support and JP1/Integrated Management - Service Support. These products are based on the concept of an information technology infrastructure library (ITIL), and they have been developed to reduce operation workloads and to improve efficiency throughout service support in service management.

JP1/IM-V

JP1/IM-V is an abbreviation for JP1/Integrated Management - View and JP1/Integrated Management 2 - View, a product in the JP1 family. This program provides a viewer function to achieve integrated system management in JP1/IM. JP1/IM-V connects to JP1/IM-M and monitors and manages systems.

JP1 Link Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform to mutually link Operational Contents and JP1 products, such as JP1/IM and JP1/AO which are external programs, by exchanging data with the JP1 products.

Navigation Platform

A generic name for JP1/Navigation Platform and JP1/Navigation Platform for Developers.

node

A part that indicates an operational process and is displayed in an Operational Flow. The three types of nodes are Terminal Nodes, Process Nodes, and Branch Nodes.

Offline Plugin

A plugin that does not communicate with a server. Offline Plugins include the following:

  • Data Store Plugin

  • JavaScript Plugin#

If using JavaScript Plugin offline, it is necessary to select the Execute in the browser check box in the Attribute Settings window of the JavaScript Plugin part in advance.

Online Plugin

A plugin that is not an Offline Plugin.

Operational Content

Information needed to perform operations. Operational Contents are created and displayed in Navigation Platform windows.

Operational Content Editing Window

A window used to perform the following Navigation Platform operations:

  • Creating, editing, copying, and deleting Operational Contents

  • Publishing Operational Contents and making Operational Contents private

  • Associating I/O Plugins

  • Setting access permissions for Operational Contents

Operational Content Execution Window

Window in which Operational Contents are used to perform operations.

Operational Flow

A flowchart of the operations in an Operational Content.

part

A component that is placed in Navigation Platform windows.

plugin

A user program used to link Navigation Platform and external programs and to use Navigation Platform's extended functions. Navigation Platform provides the interfaces needed for developing plugins.

Plugin Part

A part used to associate plugins with Operational Contents. A part is selected from the Plugins pallet and placed in a Guide area.

portal settings file

A uCosminexus Portal Framework file included in Navigation Platform. This file defines the information needed for linking Navigation Platform with directory servers and database servers.

Process Node

A node that indicates a process during operations. At least one Process Node must be provided between Terminal Nodes. Process Nodes are displayed in windows as rectangles.

Published Version

A version of an Operational Content that has been published even once.

Service Support Window URL Creation Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform to acquire URLs of JP1/IM-SS. This plugin enables the user to access the following windows from Operational Contents:

  • Window for previewing JP1/IM-SS items

  • Item edit window in JP1/IM-SS

setup

The setup that is performed using Navigation Platform commands. A simple procedure is provided for setting up Navigation Platform.

suspend information

Information that is saved temporarily when the user suspends window operations in an environment in which a Suspend/Resume Plugin is used. When the window operations are resumed, the suspend information is restored.

Suspend/Resume Plugin

A plugin that enables the user to suspend an operation in order to reference another operation or to log out, and then to resume the operation later from the suspended status.

System Plugin

A plugin provided by Navigation Platform that is required for linking external programs or Guide Parts.

Terminal Node

A node indicating the start or the end of an operation. Terminal Nodes are placed at the beginning and the end of an Operational Flow. Terminal Nodes are displayed as circles in Navigation Platform windows.

user label property file

A file used to define customization for the displayed strings of Tools menu links in the header area of the Operational Content Execution Window.

user message properties file

A file used to define messages that are displayed, for example, when Operational Contents are used in the Operational Content Execution Window and when operations are terminated.

User Plugin

A plugin developed by a developer using APIs provided by Navigation Platform.

user property file

A file used to define an operating environment for Navigation Platform. The definitions specified in this file includes the user IDs that have Navigation Platform's system administrator permissions, information about the appearance of windows, and trace information.

user setup property file

A file used to define setup information when Navigation Platform is set up. This file contains definitions needed for linking Navigation Platform with directory servers and port numbers.

user style property file

A file used to define customization for the font options of the Character font drop-down list on the Size Settings tab in the Operational Content Settings window of the Operational Content Editing Window.

Version Being Edited

The version of an Operational Content that is being edited or that has been edited by a Content Editor.

web server

A server that performs processing related to receiving requests from web browsers and sending data to web browsers.
