5.1.1 Using commands to start Navigation Platform (system)
When you restart a system that has been stopped by using the npstop command (stop), follow the procedure described below to start the system manually.
- Important
-
When you start the system, note the following:
-
If you use JP1/Base user authentication, start all instances of JP1/Base before you start the Navigation Platform system. For details about how to start JP1/Base, see the JP1/Base User's Guide.
-
If you use a directory server, start the directory server before you start the Navigation Platform system. For details about how to start your directory server, see the directory server documentation.
-
-
Execute the npstart command (start).
- Command path:
-
Navigation-Platform-installation-directory\bin\npstart
-
If an error message is displayed, take the following action:
- If the KDCZ50859-E message is displayed:
-
Eliminate the cause of the error, and then use the npstop command to stop the system. After that, re-execute the npstart command.
- If any other message is displayed:
-
Resolve the problem according to the information provided in the message, and then re-execute the npstart command.
For details about how to use the command, see 9.17 npstart command (start).
- Note
-
If you add the npstart command to Windows tasks, you can start Navigation Platform automatically when the machine starts. However, if you will be executing other programs, for example, by using a batch file after Navigation Platform has started, use the command method to start Navigation Platform.
