16.3.4 Define Details - [AJS3 Unit Monitored Objects] dialog box

The Define Details - [AJS3 Unit Monitored Objects] dialog box defines the application (root jobnet) to be monitored as the AJS3 unit monitored object. For the monitoring mode, you can use this dialog box only to reference definition contents.

The following figure shows the Define Details - [AJS3 Unit Monitored Objects] dialog box.

[Figure]

The following explains the display items of the Define Details - [AJS3 Unit Monitored Objects] dialog box.

Name

Specify the name of an AJS3 unit monitored object using a character string of up to 30 bytes.

The monitoring mode does not allow you to change this name.

You cannot specify the following single-byte characters:

  • Space

  • (

  • )

  • , (comma)

  • : (colon)

  • ; (semicolon)

  • /

  • =

Comment

Specify the comment that you want to display by moving the mouse pointer to the defined object in the map area of the Scope window. Specify a comment using a character string of up to 80 bytes.

Supplementary note

You can suppress tool tips by customizing it. For how to suppress toll tips, see 14.3.5 Showing or hiding a tool tip.

Icon file name
  • Text field

To display an icon other than the default icon in the map area of the Scope window, specify a file name under the folder storing icon images. You can only use the gif extension for the file name. You can enter up to 255 bytes as an icon file name. If you do not specify any icon file name, the default icon appears in the text field.

  • ... button

Clicking the ... button displays the Select File dialog box. From the Select File dialog box, you can select a file in the folder storing icon images. The selected image file name appears in the text field.

The default folder storing icon images contains the following image files as the icon image file for the AJS3 unit monitored object:

    - ajs2u_db.gif

    - ajs2u_file.gif

    - ajs2u_group.gif

We recommend that you select a file name beginning with ajs2u_ to distinguish business scope icons from AJS3 unit monitored object icons or vice versa. The following files are also available as icons without the AJS3 unit monitored object symbol:

    - db.gif

    - file.gif

    - group.gif

    - building.gif

    - earth.gif

    - machine.gif

Supplementary note

The following shows the default folder storing icon images.

JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\image\console\icon

You can change the folder storing icon images. For details on the directory storing icon images, see 14.3.9 Changing the folder storing the icon images.

For how to create an icon image file, see 14.5.2 How to create an icon image file.

Cautionary note

If you display icon images while starting JP1/AJS3 Console View, later attempts to delete or change them will not actually affect them.

Object to monitor

Specify the names of the JP1/AJS3 host and application (root jobnet) to be monitored.

Host name

Specify the name or IP address of the JP1/AJS3 - Manager host to be monitored. You can specify the host name using a character string of up to 255 bytes.

AJS3 unit name

Specify the name of the application (root jobnet) to be monitored with a full name (including a scheduler service name). The AJS3 unit that you can specify is only a root jobnet. You can specify an AJS3 unit name using a character string of up to 2,047 bytes.

Example of specification: AJSROOT1:/order-reception

You cannot specify the following single-byte characters:

  • Space

  • (

  • )

  • , (comma)

  • ; (semicolon)

  • =

Cautionary note

The unit specified in AJS3 unit name can monitor only root jobnets. Do not specify the following units. If you specify these units, the AJS3 unit monitored object enters Unknown status.

  • Job

  • Job group

  • Nested jobnet

  • Planning group

  • Manager job group

  • Manager jobnet

Supplementary note

You can also use the following procedure to specify the root jobnet to be monitored in AJS3 unit name.

  1. Log in to the host where the root jobnet to be monitored by JP1/AJS3 - View is defined, select the jobnet from the JP1/AJS3 - View window, and then choose Save Full Unit Name from the Options menu.

The full path name character string of the selected unit is stored in the clipboard.

  2. Paste the full path name character string stored in Step 1 into the AJS3 unit name text field.

This paste operation depends on the system.

You can paste the stored name by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing the V key in the AJS3 unit name text field.
