14.5.2 How to create an icon image file

You can display any icon other than the default icon for each object you want to display in the Main Scope window and the Sub Scope window.

This subsection explains how to create an icon image file.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Type of file that you can specify as icon image file

You can specify an image file of gif type.

(2) Software to be used

Use a graphic editor that lets you edit gifs

(3) Icon image size

The size of an icon image is 48 x 48 (pixels). It is recommended that you create an icon in the range 46 x 46 (pixels), which leaves a margin of 2 pixels around the drawing area. Otherwise, you cannot distinguish whether the icon is selected when having selected it in the map area. For the margin area, specify a transparent color.

(4) Specifying the status color area

Prepare the area for displaying the status color for each icon image. For the area displaying the status color, specify an RGB value shown in the following table.

Table 14‒3: RGB value for displaying status color

No.

RGB color (red:green:blue)

Supplementary notes
  • The RGB value with the smaller number indicates the lighter color, while the RGB value with the bigger number indicates the darker color.

  • The standard color (in which the color having been specified in the Color Settings dialog box is reflected) is item 2. You can make gradations to the color by using the other RGB values.

JP1/AJS3 Console View provides an image file named sample.gif#. As shown in the following figure, you can create an icon image by overlapping a symbol image on this image. This overlapping lets you make an icon that matches the default icons.

The sample.gif file is stored in the following location. Be sure not to update the sample.gif file itself.

JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\image\console\icon

(5) Icon image file name

Use a file name beginning with user_ for the icon image file you wan to create.

(6) Storing destination of icon image file

Save the created icon image to the folder storing icon images.

The default path of the folder storing icon images is:

JP1/AJS3 - View-installation-folder\image\console\icon

You also can change the folder storing icon images. For details, see 14.3.9 Changing the folder storing the icon images.
