Job Management Partner 1 Version 10 Job Management Partner 1/Automatic Operation Administration Guide

1.1.1 Basic tasks in a preparation phase

After setting up a JP1/AO system, you need to prepare the system to automate the operating procedures for which the system is intended.

First, a user adds services as decided in the service and operation planning processes. At this time, the user also sets up the connection destinations, properties, users, and groups necessary to execute the services.

The following describes the basic flow of operations in the preparation phase of a JP1/AO system. The tasks in the example below are shared between two users: User A who is assigned the Admin role and has User Management permissions, and User M who is assigned the Modify role.

Tasks performed by User A (User Management permission and Admin role)

  1. Select the service templates as decided in the service and operation planning processes.

  2. Add the selected service templates to JP1/AO.

Add the service templates selected in the service planning process to JP1/AO.

  3. Set shared service properties.

Shared service properties are properties that are shared by more than one service. Set the property value of the service share property defined for the added service template. If necessary, set the shared built-in service property.

  4. Register users.

Add users who will add and execute services.

  5. Create resource groups.

A resource group is a unit that groups together services and connection destinations.

  6. Create user groups.

A user group is a set of users who belong to the same organization or share responsibilities.

  7. Assign users and resource groups to user groups.

By allocating resource groups to user groups, you can control the access each user has to specific services. For example, you can provide services in a multi-tenant system by managing services efficiently in the context of user groups.

  8. Define connection destinations.

To limit the connection-destination hosts of a service, you need to have registered the hosts as connection destinations. For connection destination definitions, set connection destination information including the host name (or IP address) of the connection destination, and the connection destination type. In addition, set authentication information, such as user IDs and passwords, as necessary.

Tasks performed by User M (Modify role)

  1. Use the service templates added by User A to add services.

  2. Set service properties.

Prepare services for execution by adding them to JP1/AO and setting the appropriate property values.
