4.5.4 Converting to an AVI file

Remote Control Player, a controller-provided facility, is required to play back recording files. This means that recording files can only be played back in an environment where the controller is available. However, you can convert recording files to AVI files, which can be played back in environments where the controller is unavailable. The figure below shows how to convert recording files to AVI files.

If you convert the recording file to an AVI file, you can edit the file, including the addition of a title and comments, by using the appropriate applications.

Note that a recording file converted to an AVI file may not play back properly if you change the resolution of the agent while it is being recorded to the recording file.

Use the conversion wizard to convert to an AVI file. The following subsection explains how to use the conversion wizard to convert recording files to AVI files.

Frame rate
Specify a value from 1 to 10 as the number of frames per second (frame rate). The default is 2. A higher value will lead to smoother playback rendering, but require longer time for file conversion and cause the conversion result file to be larger.

Image quality
Specify a value from 0 to 100 as the desired image quality level. The default varies depending on the selected compression type.
The default varies depending on the selected compression type.
