4.4.7 Editing the agent list and connection history

The Agent Manager window allows you to perform the following editing operations on the networks, folders, agents, and separators shown in the window.

Organization of this subsection
(1) Moving and copying
(2) Deleting
(3) Changing names (for the agent list only)
(4) Changing attributes (for the agent list only)
(5) Searching by keyword

(1) Moving and copying

There are three ways to move or copy networks, folders, agents (including found agents and request agent), request server and separators. You can use any of these methods in the agent list, but only the third method is available in the connection history. Note that, when moving or copying a folder, all the data contained in the folder will be subject to the operation.

  1. Drag and drop the item you want to move. (In the Agent List, you can copy items by performing operation while holding down the Ctrl key.)
  2. From the Edit menu, use Cut, Copy, and Paste.
  3. From the Edit menu, choose Shift Upward or Shift Downward to move the item upward or downward.

Items to be noted when manipulating an active request server
  • When you attempt to cut an active request server, a message is displayed, asking you if you are sure you want to stop the request server.
  • When you move an active request server, the request server will still be active in the destination.
  • When you copy an active request server, the copy will be inactive.

(2) Deleting

To delete a folder, agent, request server, or separator, select the icon for the item you want to delete, and press the Delete key. Alternatively, from the File menu, choose Delete.

When you attempt to delete an active request server, a message is displayed, asking you if you are sure you want to stop the request server. A similar message is also displayed when you attempt to delete a folder that contains an active request server.

When a request agent is deleted, the connection request from the agent is canceled.

(3) Changing names (for the agent list only)

You can rename a network, folder, agent, or request server displayed in the agent list.

  1. Select the icon of the item you want to rename.
  2. Click the name section again. (Alternatively, from the File menu, choose Rename.)
The icon of the folder or file enters the state in which you can change its name.
  3. Enter the new name.
The folder or file is renamed.

(4) Changing attributes (for the agent list only)

You can change the name, address (or port number for request servers), and description of the folder, agent, network, and request server displayed in the Agent List. In addition to these, you can also change the following attributes.

For details on changing attributes, see 4.4.8 Changing and viewing item attributes.

Note that the attributes for a found agent and request agent cannot be modified. Move it to another folder before changing its attributes.

(5) Searching by keyword

You can specify a character string as key and search items shown in the Agent Manager window for those containing the character string in the name, address, or description attributes. If you set multiple keys, the system looks for items that match all the keys. However, in the connection history, you cannot specify a key for the description attribute. (Any such key specified will be ignored.)

To search for items:

  1. Select the icon of the item you want to start the search from.
With the selected icon as the starting point, a search is performed downward.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Find.
    The Find dialog box appears.
