4.1.1 Starting Remote Control Manager

In the Remote Control Manager program folder or JP1/Software Distribution's program folder, choose the Remote Controller icon to start Remote Control Manager. Remote Control Manage starts and the Remote Control window appears. The figure below shows the Remote Control window.

Address bar
In the address bar, you specify the agent to be connected. The address bar consists of the Agent button, which is used for selecting from a list of created agents, and an address box, which is used for directly specifying an agent. For details on how to use the address bar, see 4.1.2(1)(a) From the address bar.

Menu bar
The menu bar is displayed when the system is not connected to an agent. When the system is connected to an agent, the menu bar disappears. However, you can view the menu by right-clicking the title bar and choosing the Remote Control menu. For details on each menu item, see A.1 Remote Control window menu.

Toolbar buttons
The toolbar contains buttons of commonly used remote control functions. For details on each button and their display status, see 4.2.4(7) Customizing the toolbar.

Status bar
The status bar displays remote control information such as the amount of incoming/outgoing data, connection duration, the status of the Ctrl and Alt keys, and the data transfer status with an agent. For details on the display status of the status bar, see 3.3.5(3) Status bar.

Action-keys input bar
The action-keys input bar displays buttons of function keys and shortcut keys for sending data to an agent. For details on the action keys, see 4.2.2 Registering and executing action keys.

You can also start Remote Control Manager via the following methods:

Using a command
Type the following command to start Remote Control Manager.
dmrccntl.exe /agent host-name or IP-address
Specify the host name or IP address to identify the agent to be connected. When Remote Control Manager starts, Remote Control Manager automatically connects to the specified agent. If you omit this specification, the agent will not be connected to Remote Control Manager.

From JP1/IM - View
In the Tool Launcher window of JP1/IM - View, choose Remote Control and then Remote Control.
