3.3.9 Register Action Key page

If the Remote Control mode is Shared or Exclusive, you can register shortcut keys, which cannot be directly sent from the keyboard, as action keys and send the action keys to the agent.

Action keys that are registered on this page can be sent from this page or the action key bar at the bottom of the Remote Control window.

To display the action key bar, open the View menu and choose Action Keys. Alternatively, go to the Properties dialog box, open the Toolbar page, and then select the Show the toolbar check box.

The settings specified on this page will also be saved when you click the Update button.

The Register Action Key page is shown below.

(1) Action keys

The available action keys are displayed, classified by type.

(2) Action key type

Select Default or Custom as the action key type. When you select Default, a list of the default action keys provided by JP1/Remote Control Manager is displayed in the Action keys area. When you select Custom, a list of keys that can be combined by the user is displayed in the Action keys area.

(3) Description

A descriptive text is displayed for the key selected in the Action keys area.

(4) Selected key

The selected key is displayed. When you select a key from the list in the Action keys area and click >>, the selected key is displayed here. If you click the Register button while keys are in the Selected key area, those keys are registered as action keys and are moved to the Registered keys area.

Keys selected from Custom can be combined with keys from the Selected key area. For example, if you select Windows + and click the >> button, and then select E and click the >> button, a key called Windows + E is displayed in the Selected key area. You cannot customize action keys selected from Default.

To remove keys from the Selected key area, click the Reset button or << button. If keys selected from Custom are combined, clicking the Reset button clears all the keys, and clicking the << button removes the action keys one by one from the right box.

(5) Registered keys

This area shows a list of the currently registered action keys. These action keys can be sent to the agent. To send an action key to the agent, select the action key to be sent and click the Send button. To remove a registered action key, select the action key and click the Remove button.

In the action-keys input bar at the bottom of the Remote Control window, the action keys are displayed in the order shown in the Registered keys list. To resort the action keys, select an action key and click the ^ or v button.
