8.4.5 Displaying the execution status of ID group jobs

You can check in the Job Status window the execution status of the following jobs with an ID group specified as the destination:

The following section explains the procedure for checking the execution status of a job with an ID group specified.

(1) Displaying the job execution status of a relay system managing an ID group

To check the relay system that manages jobs with specified ID groups:

  1. In the Job Status window, on the View menu, deselect the check for the Clients of ID or All-Lower-Clients Jobs option.
  2. Double-click a job with an ID group specified.
    The ID group is displayed under the job's hierarchical level.

  3. Double-click the ID group.
    The relay system managing the ID group is displayed under the ID group's hierarchical level. In the right-hand section, the package name is displayed under the Job column.

Table 8-5 shows the types of ID group job execution status that are displayed in the Job Status window when you clear the Clients of ID or All-Lower-Clients Jobs option.

For the types of execution status of a job that are displayed when the Clients of ID or All-Lower-Clients Jobs option is selected and a client is selected in the left-hand section of the Job Status window, see 8.4.3(3)(a) Types of job execution status.

Job execution status Progress Color indicating the execution status Description
Waiting for transmission 0% White Job was created, but it has been placed on transfer-wait status on the managing server.
Registering# Registering White Job is being transferred to the relay system managing the ID group.
In a hierarchical managing server system, the job is being transferred from the relay manager/system directly under the central manager to the relay system managing the ID group.
Standing by# Standing by White Job is being transferred from the relay system managing the ID group to client systems, or the job is executing.
Finished Finished Green Package managed at the relay system has been deleted.
Error 0% Red Error occurred during execution.

For an ID group job registered in JP1/Software Distribution 06-51 or earlier, the display settings of that version apply. The display settings of the current version apply, however, for an ID group job in Registering status.
(b) ID group job execution status transitions

Figure 8-36 shows the ID group job execution status transitions when you clear the Clients of ID or All-Lower-Clients Jobs option.

(2) Displaying the execution status for each client

To check the execution status at a client of a job with an ID group specified:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then Clients of ID or All-Lower-Clients Jobs.
  2. Double-click the job with an ID group specified.
    The ID group is displayed under the job's hierarchical level.

  3. Double-click the ID group.
    The clients belonging to this ID group are displayed under the ID group's hierarchical level.

  4. Click a client.
    The job execution status at the selected client is displayed in the right-hand section.

    Double-clicking on a package displays the Detailed Information dialog box.

(3) Using the higher system to check the execution status of an ID group job executed at a relay system

The higher system's Job Status window can be used to check the execution status of a job with an ID group specified from Remote Installation Manager at the relay system.

To check the execution status of a job with an ID group:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then Jobs of Relay System.
    The relay system's folder is displayed, followed by the job names that the relay system has assigned. The job name is IB + job-registration-date-and-time.

Note that during JP1/Software Distribution Client (relay system) setup, if you did not select the check box for the option Report the ID group job status to the managing server on the Remote Installation Manager page, the managing server's Job Status window will not display an ID group job executed in a relay system.
