8.4.4 Displaying the job execution status

You can display all jobs under a hierarchical level or details of the jobs all at once, as well as displaying by each hierarchical level in the window. If there are multiple folders, you can efficiently check the execution status by viewing all jobs or their details. The following are the different ways of displaying information:

(1) Displaying information by hierarchical level

To display information within a selected hierarchical level:

  1. In the Job Status window, from the View menu, choose Specified Information Only.
  2. Select the hierarchical level for which information is to be displayed.
    Information within the selected hierarchical level is displayed.

(2) Displaying all jobs under a hierarchical level

To display all jobs under the selected hierarchical level:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then All Jobs.
  2. Select the hierarchical level for which information is to be displayed.
    All jobs under the selected hierarchical level are displayed.

The displayed information includes the following items:

Job
Displays the job names.

Execution date/time
Displays each job's execution date and time.

Result
Displays each job's execution status.

Scheduled date/time
Displays each job's scheduled execution date and time.

Execution time limit
Displays each job's execution time limit.

After you have selected a job from the right-hand pane of the window, choosing View and then Details (or double-clicking the job) opens the Display Job dialog box.

The Display Job dialog box displays the following items:

Job name
Displays the name of the job.

Date/time items
Displays date and time information set for the job.

Job execution date/time
Displays the job's execution date and time.

Scheduled job execution
Displays the job's scheduled execution date and time.

Job execution time limit
Displays the job's execution time limit.

Detailed job status
Displays the applicable count for each detailed job execution status. Total displays the total of the applicable counts.

(3) Displaying details of all jobs under a hierarchical level

To display the details of all jobs under a hierarchical level:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then All Job Details.
  2. Select the hierarchical level for which information is to be displayed.
    Details of all jobs under the selected hierarchical level are displayed.

This detailed job information includes the items listed below.

During remote collection, the path of each collected file (names of the file and the directory containing the file) is displayed as the details of the job. To restore an archived file, select the file path and use the Unarchiver.

Job
Displays the job names.

Destination
Displays for each job the name of the destination host subject to job execution.

Package
Displays for each job the name of the package subject to job execution.

Package ID
Displays the ID of each package subject to job execution.

Version
Displays the version number of each package subject to job execution.

Generation
Displays the generation number of each package subject to job execution.

Execution date/time
Displays each job's execution date and time.

Result
Displays each job's execution status.

Installation timing
Displays each job's package installation timing.

In addition to this information, you can display additional details about the package, cause of a job error, maintenance code, etc.

To display additional details:

  1. Select the details line of a job in the right-hand section of the window, then from the View menu, choose Details (or double-click the job details line).
    The Detailed Information dialog box is displayed.

Package information
Displays package-related information, such as package name, package ID, and package expiration date.

Details
Displays job-related information, such as job type, job execution route, and maintenance code. The Details field also displays the cause of a job error, etc. For details about maintenance codes, see 6.2.3 List of maintenance codes in the manual Administrator's Guide Volume 2.
If UNIX is shown under Error function, the number displayed under Error cause is the message ID reported from JP1/Software Distribution Client or JP1/Software Distribution Workstation for UNIX.

Split distribution information
This field is activated when the package is subject to split distribution. Package split size, Distribution interval, and Split distribution status are displayed.
The split distribution status is displayed as transferred-size [Figure] total-size (KB).
The transferred size is reset to 0 every time the transfer goes through a relay system.

Client Results
Displays the number of applicable clients for each job execution status.

(4) Selecting date/time display information

To display information by selecting date and time information:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then Set Display.
    The Set Display dialog box is displayed.

    This dialog box contains the following items:
    Display date/time of the job in the Job Status window
    Specify the type of date and time item to be displayed. The item whose checkbox you select is displayed.
    Scheduled date/time for job execution
    Displays the job's scheduled execution date and time.
    Execution time limit
    Displays the job's execution time limit.
    Execution date/time
    Displays the job's execution date and time.
    Scheduled installation date/time
    Displays the package installation date and time.
    Display system information as a comment about the destination client in the Job Status window
    Use this option to display information about the job destination in addition to the key item (the selected key item is displayed in a light color). The available subjects for comments are Subkey, Host ID, and Comment.
  2. Specify the items to be displayed, and then choose OK.
    The specified items are displayed.

(5) Sorting the display by specifying a condition

You can specify a condition for sorting information displayed in the right-hand pane of the Job Status window. Sorting the job execution status by execution date and time or by destination name can simplify execution-status checking.

To sort information:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then Arrange.
    The Sort Order dialog box is displayed. Select a sort order and then choose OK in this dialog box to change the sort order for the information displayed in the right-hand pane of the Job Status window.

    Priority
    Specify the sorting key (base item).
    For sorting, 1st priority key is the item for the first-level sorting. After sorting by the first priority key, identical items are sorted on the basis of the 2nd priority key. After this sorting, any identical items are sorted further on the basis of the 3rd priority key.
    If you are not specifying a key, select None.
    Sort with unexecuted jobs at top
    This option displays unexecuted jobs at the top or bottom. The default is that this check box is selected and unexecuted jobs are displayed at the top. To display unexecuted jobs at the bottom, deselect the check box.

(6) Displaying jobs being deleted

When you delete a job in the Job Status window, you can leave the job displayed until it is deleted at the relay manager/system or clients to which it was transferred. While the deletion processing is underway, the job is shown as Now being deleted. The job is erased only when deletion processing has been completed throughout the entire system. To determine if a job was deleted before it was executed at the relay manager/system or clients, check the clients' installed package information.

To display a job being deleted:

  1. In the Job Status window, choose View and then Jobs being Deleted.
    Now being deleted is displayed after the names of any jobs that are in the process of being deleted at the relay manager/system or client. The total number of jobs being deleted appears in the Finished/Error/Rejected/Total field.
