The following figure shows the procedures in the JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS2 - Manager setup process.

Figure 3-1 Procedures in the JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS2 - Manager setup process

[Figure]

To set up JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS2 - Manager:

  1. Set up the scheduler service to be monitored from JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant.
    Execute the ajswoarelsetup command on the JP1/AJS3 - Manager host or JP1/AJS2 - Manager host. This setup command allows the specified scheduler service to be monitored from JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant. For details about the ajswoarelsetup command, see (1) ajswoarelsetup.
  2. Specify the settings for passing through the firewall.
    When the JP1/AJS3 - Manager host or JP1/AJS2 - Manager host uses an embedded database or HiRDB and a firewall is set up, you must specify settings for passing through the firewall. For details about the settings, see 3.8 Settings for passing through a firewall.
  3. Expanding the global buffer.
    When using an embedded database or HiRDB with the JP1/AJS3 - Manager host or JP1/AJS2 - Manager host, it is necessary to expand the global buffer in order to achieve the full performance of JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant. For details about how to perform this expansion, see 3.9 Setting up global buffer expansion.
  4. Start the monitoring target JP1/AJS services.
    JP1/AJS3 - Manager: Start the JP1/AJS3 service.
    JP1/AJS2 - Manager: Start the JP1/AJS2 Monitor service.

(1) ajswoarelsetup

Below is the syntax of the ajswoarelsetup command, which is used for setting up JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS2 - Manager.

Format

ajswoarelsetup
[-h logical-host-name]
[-F scheduler-service-name]
{-i monitoring-source-host-name|-u}

Description
Sets whether to allow JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant to monitor a scheduler service. This command allows you to specify the following information.

Setting configuration definition information
Sets the configuration definition information required for JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant to monitor a scheduler service.

    "WOAHOST"="-i-option-argument-value"
  • When the -u option is specified:
    "WOARELATION"="dword:00000000
    "WOAHOST"=""

Execution privileges
In Windows: Administrators privileges
In UNIX: Superuser privileges

Storage destination directory
In Windows:
JP1/AJS3 - Manager-or-JP1/AJS2 - Manager-installation-folder\bin
In UNIX:
/opt/jp1ajs2/bin

Arguments

-h logical-host-name
Specifies the name of the JP1 logical host to be monitored.
If you omit this argument, the system assumes the value of the environment variable JP1_HOSTNAME if it is set. If not, the system assumes a physical host. You cannot specify the IP address as the logical host name.

-F scheduler-service-name
Specifies the name of the scheduler service to be monitored. 1 to 30 bytes can be specified.
If you omit this argument, the system assumes the value of the environment variable AJSCONF if it is set.
If the environment variable AJSCONF is not set, the system assumes the default scheduler service.

-i monitoring-source-host-name
Allows JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant on the specified monitoring source host to monitor a scheduler service. You can use 1 to 255 bytes to specify the name of a monitoring source host. The monitoring host name should be specified for the host name (computer name) for the JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant machine.

-u
Disables JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant from monitoring a scheduler service.

Cautionary notes
  • Only one monitoring source host can monitor the target scheduler service specified in this command. If you change the monitoring source host and execute this command more than once for the same scheduler service, the monitoring source host specified in the last command becomes valid.
  • If you change the monitoring source host name, re-set the new host name in the command. Until you set the new host name, JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant on the monitoring source host cannot perform monitoring.

Return values
0 Ends normally
Values other than 0 Ends abnormally

Example
This example allows JP1/AJS3 - Web Operation Assistant on the monitoring source host (host1) to monitor a scheduler service (service1).

ajswoarelsetup -i host1 -F service1
