E.3 Operation example

The figure below shows an operation example in which a tool starts that pings the host at the IP address given as the argument. The tool is started from Remote Install Manager.

1. Register the tool.

   In the Tool Registration dialog box, register the PING tool in the menu of Remote Install Manager.

   Because this tool uses an IP address as an argument, specify $(ADDRESS) in the Argument field.

2. Start the tool.

   In Remote Install Manager, select the host CLT002 and start the PING tool from the menu.

   The IP address 192.168.24.12 is passed from the system configuration information of host CLT002 to the argument used by the tool.

3. Check the execution results of the tool.

   Check the execution result of the PING tool which pings host CLT002 at the IP address 192.168.24.12.
