7.6.2 Checking the software installed on a managed computer before installation

Some commercial software products require particular versions of particular software products for normal operations. In such cases, you can specify a particular version to check whether particular software has been installed on a managed computer. Conversely, you can also specify such conditions as performing remote installation only if particular software products do not exist on the managed computer.

These conditions are called software conditions. You can specify software conditions on the Software Conditions page in the JP1/ITDM2 Packaging dialog box of the Packager or on the Software Conditions page in the Change Installation Conditions dialog box of the Remote Install Manager.

The following figure illustrates an example of checking the software installed on a managed computer before installation.
