5.8 Edit Remote Monitoring Configuration window

The Edit Remote Monitoring Configuration window is used to edit the remote monitoring configuration managed by IM Configuration Management. This window has a tree display area, the Lower Host Information area, and the Host List area. The tree display area displays the remote monitoring configuration in a tree structure. If the host selected in the tree display area has subordinate hosts, the Lower Host Information area displays a list of these subordinate hosts. The Host List area displays a list of hosts that can be added to the remote monitoring configuration.

Important

When hosts are deleted from the remote monitoring configuration and the change is applied, all profiles for the remote monitoring configuration are deleted.

The following figure shows an example of the Edit Remote Monitoring Configuration window.

Tree display area

Displays the remote monitoring configuration in a tree structure. In the remote monitoring configuration, the host selected in the tree display area of the Edit Remote Monitoring Configuration window can be edited. Dragging a host selected in the tree display area, and dropping it in the Host List area deletes the host from the remote monitoring configuration. In the tree display area, a node can be moved by drag-and-drop. When the icon of a node is left-clicked, the node is selected as the operation target. There is an icon that indicates the integrated manager ([Figure]) and an icon that indicates a remote managed host ([Figure]).

Acquire update right

When the user selects the Acquire update right check box, the user can edit the remote monitoring configuration. When a user has acquired the update permission and edits the remote monitoring configuration, other users are unable to edit the remote monitoring configuration.

Lower Host Information

The items to be displayed in the Lower Host Information area, such as Host, IP address, and Host type can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks an item name.

The hosts subordinate to the item selected in the tree display area are listed in this area. The items displayed in the Lower Host Information area are the same as the items displayed in the Edit Agent Configuration window. For details about the items displayed in the Lower Host Information area, see Table 5-18 Items displayed in the Lower Host Information area.

Host List

Only hosts that can be added to the remote monitoring configuration are listed in the Host List area. Hosts already edited and set in the remote monitoring configuration, and hosts whose actual host name is the same as the name of a host in the system hierarchy (IM configuration) are not listed.

The following table describes the menu items available in the Edit Remote Monitoring Configuration window.
