5.6 Edit Agent Configuration window
The Edit Agent Configuration window is used to edit the IM configuration, which is the system hierarchy managed by IM Configuration Management. This window has a tree display area, the Lower Host Information area, and the Host List area. The tree display area displays the system hierarchy in a tree structure. If the host selected in the tree display area has subordinate hosts, the Lower Host Information area displays a list of these subordinate hosts. The Host List area displays a list of hosts that can be added to the system hierarchy.
When hosts are deleted from the agent configuration and the change is applied, all JP1/Base profiles are deleted from the manager, and the profile trees for the functions running on agents are re-obtained. At this time, all profiles that have not yet been applied on the manager are deleted.
The following figure shows an example of the Edit Agent Configuration window.
- Toolbar
-
Displays the buttons for commands that are frequently used in the Edit Agent Configuration window.
- (Refresh)
-
Refreshes the information displayed in the tree display area.
- (Help button)
-
Displays Help.
- Tree display area
-
Displays the system hierarchy in a tree structure. In the system hierarchy, the host selected in the tree display area of the Edit Agent Configuration window can be edited. Dragging a host selected in the tree display area, and dropping it in the Host List area deletes the host from the system hierarchy. From the menu displayed when a host is right-clicked in the tree display area, the following operations can be performed: Cut, Paste, Add Host, Delete Host, Exchange Hosts, Base Manager Settings, or Release Base Manager Settings. The following table lists the items that are displayed in the tree display area.
Table 5‒17: Items displayed in the tree display area (Edit Agent Configuration window) Item
Description
Plus sign (+) icon
A plus sign (+) icon is displayed beside the name of a manager that has lower hosts.
If the plus sign (+) icon is clicked, the manager is expanded to show the lower hosts.
Minus sign (-) icon
A minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the name of a manager that has lower hosts.
If the minus sign (-) icon is clicked, the expanded manager is collapsed to hide the lower hosts.
Indicates an integrated manager. If an integrated manager has lower hosts, a plus sign (+) icon or a minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the integrated manager.
Indicates a relay manager. If a relay manager has lower hosts, a plus sign (+) icon or a minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the relay manager.
Indicates a base manager. If a base manager has lower hosts, a plus sign (+) icon or a minus sign (-) icon is displayed beside the base manager. When configuring a hierarchy with a base manager, define the system hierarchy in the base manager first, and then synchronize the hierarchy between the integrated and base managers.
Indicates an agent.
- Acquire update right check box
-
When the user selects the Acquire update right check box, the user can edit the system hierarchy. When a user has acquired the update permission and edits the system hierarchy, other users are unable to edit the system hierarchy.
- Lower Host Information
-
The items to be displayed in the Lower Host Information area, such as Host, IP address, and Host type, can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks an item name.
The hosts positioned lower than the item selected in the tree display area are listed in this area. The following table explains the items displayed in the Lower Host Information area.
