3.6.3 Specifying the Java proxy settings

Organization of this subsection

(1) When using the Send and Receive App (Default)

This subsection describes how to manually set up the proxy and security settings of the App. Only Basic authentication is supported.

  1. From Start in the web browser, start Data Highway Client. Alternatively, double-click the file config.dhxc that is immediately under the folder where Data Highway Client is installed.

  2. The setup window appears.

    The following table shows the setup items.

    Setup item

    Description

    Network Settings

    Use system settings (Default)

    The system settings are used. This is the default setting.

    Use a proxy server

    Select this option if you set a proxy manually.

    • Address

      Specify the address of the proxy server.

    • Port

      Specify the port of the proxy server.

    Use automatic proxy configuration script

    Select this option if you use an automatic configuration script.

    • Script location

      Specify the URL of the automatic configuration script.

    Direct connection

    Select this option if you do not use a proxy server.

    Delete the Saved Credentials button

    When you click this button, the credentials (the ID and password) saved during proxy authentication are deleted.

    Security Settings

    Use TLS 1.0

    Select if required. This option is not selected by default.

    Use TLS 1.1

    These options are selected by default.

    Use TLS 1.2

  3. Click the Save and Close button. This saves the settings and closes the setup window.

(2) When not using the Send and Receive App

  1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

    The Control Panel appears.

  2. Double-click the Java icon to display the Java Control Panel.

  3. In the General tab, under Network Settings, click the Network Settings... button.

    The Network Settings dialog box appears.

  4. Select Use proxy server, and then enter the IP address and port number of the proxy server.

    Tip

    For details about the IP address and port number of the proxy server, ask your network administrator.

  5. Click the Advanced... button.

    The Advanced Network Settings dialog box appears.

  6. Select the Use same proxy server for all protocols check box, and then click the OK button.

    The Network Settings dialog box appears.

  7. Click the OK button.
