JP1 Version 12 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 - Print Option Description and User's Guide

3.4.4 Notes on changing IP addresses

If you change the IP address of a host in a system where JP1/AJS3 - Print Option is linked with JP1/AJS3 - View, take the following measures in addition to those required by JP1/Base, JP1/AJS3, and JP1/AJS3 - View:

  1. Before changing the IP address, stop the following JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager service:

    JP1/AJS3 POM service

  2. Make sure that the service has stopped, and then change the IP address.

  3. If you are changing from an IPv4 address to an IPv6 address, open the jprpoml.ini file and add the following definition:

    [common]
    IPv6connect = 1

    For details on the location of the jprpoml.ini file, see D.2 Product file information for JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager.

    Notes:

    • If you are using a non-Administrator account in a Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2012 environment with User Account Control (UAC) enabled, promote the account to administrator status before editing the jprpoml.ini file.

    • Only Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, Windows 7, and Linux support the use of IPv6 addresses.

    • The default setting for IPv6connect in the jprpoml.ini file is as follows:

      In Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012, and Linux:

      IPv6connect = 1

      In AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX(IPF):

      IPv6connect = 0

  4. Restart the service you stopped in step 1.

  5. If you changed from an IPv4 address to an IPv6 address, add the -6 option to the startup command in JP1/AJS3 - View.

    For details on setting the startup command in JP1/AJS3 - View, see 3.4.2 JP1/AJS3 - View setup.

If you are not linking JP1/AJS3 - Print Option with JP1/AJS3 - View, you do not need to do any of the above when you change the IP address.
