B

base time

The time that marks when a day ends and the next day begins in a JP1/AJS3 system. For example, if 8:00 a.m. is set as the base time, the previous day is regarded as lasting until 7:59 a.m.

C

configuration definition file

A file that defines the configuration information needed to operate JP1/AJS. For example, a configuration definition file can specify the directory in which to create job network elements, and whether to output messages to syslog.

custom job

A predefined job for executing a task with a specific purpose. JP1/AJS3 provides standard custom jobs such as file transfer and job requests to a mainframe. In addition, you can register your own frequently used jobs as custom jobs.

D

document area

An area in the Job Operation Document Output window that displays job operation information for the unit selected in the unit tree. By default, the document area occupies the right side of the window.

F

format definition file

A file (with the extension .jof) that defines the format of a document. You can create format definition files in the Format Definition window and store them in the folder specified in the Environment Settings window.

J

job

A group of commands, shell scripts, or Windows executable files.

job group

A folder for classifying and managing jobnets.

job operation document management

A generic name for JP1/AJS3 - Print Option and JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager.

job operation document output

A feature of JP1/AJS3 - Print Option. This feature output the job operation information collected by JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager to a document.

job operation information collection

A feature of JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager. You can collect job operation information from JP1/AJS3 - Manager.

job operation information file

A file (extension: aoi) containing job operation information collected from JP1/AJS. Job operation information files are produced by JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager. The information in these files is the basis for the documents output by JP1/AJS3 - Print Option.

jobnet

A set of jobs associated in execution order. When a jobnet is executed, the jobs in the jobnet are automatically executed in their predetermined order.

jobnet connector

A unit for controlling the execution order of root jobnets. A jobnet connector establishes connections between root jobnets and controls their execution order by having connected generations wait for their counterparts to start or finish.

jobnet flow format definition file

A file (with the extension .fof) that defines the format of a jobnet flow image. Format definitions defined for jobnet flow output in the Jobnet Flow Format Definition window are saved to a jobnet flow format definition file.

jobnet flow output

A feature that outputs jobnet definitions to Microsoft Excel or a PDF file as a jobnet flow image.

jobnet release function

A feature that automatically replaces the definition of a jobnet with another definition under certain conditions.

Specify the jobnet definition you want to replace, and the time at which the switch is to take place. The jobnet definition is replaced at the specified time.

JP1/AJS

A generic name for JP1/Automatic Job Management System 2 and JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3.

JP1/AJS is a program that automates work tasks.

In JP1/AJS, you can define sequences of tasks to execute at regular intervals, or have certain processing start when a specific event occurs.

JP1/AJS2

An abbreviation of JP1/Automatic Job Management System 2.

JP1/AJS3

An abbreviation of JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3.

JP1/AJS3 - Manager

An abbreviation of JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 - Manager.

JP1/AJS3 - Print Option

An abbreviation of JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 - Print Option.

JP1/AJS3 - Print Option outputs documents containing information about job operation.

JP1/AJS3 - Print Option is sometimes used as a generic name for JP1/AJS3 - Print Option and JP1/AJS3 - Print Option Manager.

A feature that outputs jobnet definitions to Microsoft Excel or a PDF file in map format.

nested jobnet

A jobnet defined within another jobnet.

P

planning group

A unit for switching execution among multiple root jobnets in a planned manner. Directly under a planning group, you can create a number of root jobnets, each defined differently and with differing execution schedules. This enables the root jobnets to be executed automatically in turn, according to the set schedules.

R

recovery job

A job to be executed when a job or jobnet ends abnormally.

recovery jobnet

A jobnet to be executed when a job or jobnet ends abnormally.

release ID

A release ID is used to distinguish between jobnet definitions used by the jobnet release function.

U

unit

A generic term for any job network element.

unit attribute

Definition items for JP1/AJS job network elements. Unit attributes are equivalent to the format identifiers used with the JP1/AJS ajsprint and ajsshow commands.

unit tree

An area that shows the hierarchy of units in the collected job operation information. By default, the unit tree appears at the left side of the Job Operation Document Output window.
