JP1 Version 12 JP1/Navigation Platform Setup and Operations Guide

6.2 Setting access permissions for Operational Contents (when using a directory server for user authentication)

Navigation Platform enables you to set access permissions for each Operational Content. Create access permission groups, if necessary, in the following cases:

You need access permission groups to set access permissions for Operational Contents. Either use the provided default access permission group called Standard access permissions or create access permission groups. Only a user with Navigation Platform's system administrator permissions can create access permission groups.

Tip

If the access permission group setting is left at the default Standard access permissions, the only users who will be able to reference Operational Contents will be users with system administrator permissions. If you want to allow other uses to create and edit Operational Contents, take one of the following steps to grant the privileges of administrators or editors to the other users who are not system administrators:

  • Change the definition of Standard access permissions.

  • Create new access permission groups.

To set access permissions for Operational Contents:

  1. The system administrator creates access permission groups.

In the editing environment, create access permission groups with administrator, editor, or user permissions defined for other users.

  2. The Content Manager (user with administrator permissions granted) adds new Operational Contents and sets access permission groups.

If there is no Content Manager, the system administrator must also perform this task. For details about how to set access permission groups for Operational Contents, see the manual JP1/Navigation Platform Content Editing Guide.
