3.8.2 Uninstalling Navigation Platform using the Hitachi Integrated Installer

Below, this subsection explains the procedure for uninstalling Navigation Platform using the Hitachi Integrated Installer.

  1. Perform the unsetup procedure, or stop the service.

    If setup has been completed

Perform the unsetup procedure for Navigation Platform as instructed in 4.7 Unsetup procedure.

If setup has not been completed

Stop the Navigation Platform DataBase service.

  2. Insert the CD-ROM and execute HCD_INST.EXE.

  3. Click the Continue button to start the integrated installation process from Hitachi Integrated Installer.

  4. Select the Remove mode radio button and start the uninstall process.

Depending on the program, a dialog box might appear requesting confirmation that you want to remove (uninstall). Select Yes.

If you accidentally select No, you will need to start over from step 2.

  5. Close the screen indicating that uninstallation has been completed.

Point to note after completing uninstallation

Once uninstallation has been completed, shut down or restart the OS without logging off. If you log out from the OS after completing an uninstallation, an error dialog box might appear the next time you log in. However, even if the error dialog box appears, it will not cause any problems in the operation of the OS.
