JP1 Version 11 JP1/Performance Management - Agent Option for Service Response Description, User's Guide and Reference

4.5.3 Defining measurement conditions

If you measure the IE scenarios, you must register to PFM - Agent for Service Response the measurement conditions, such as the IE scenario filenames, measurement interval, timeout values. When you use PFM - Agent for Service Response to experience performance monitoring (such as the time when you use PFM - Agent Service Response for the first time), use the simplified registration of the IE Recorder to register the measurement conditions. Note that when you use the simplified registration of the IE Recorder you must stop PFM - Agent for Service Response in advance.

If you want to customize the parameters such as the measurement intervals and timeout values or you do not want to stop PFM - Agent for Service Response, use PFM - Web Console to register the measurement conditions to the measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml).

This subsection describes the measurement items of the IE scenarios and the simplified registration of the measurement conditions.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Measurement items

The following table lists the shows the measurement items of the IE scenario:

For details about the measurement items, see 10. Records.

(2) Simplified registration into the measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml)

You can simply register measurement conditions of the opened IE scenario file into the measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml).

Note:

Before simply registering measurement conditions, you must stop PFM - Agent for Service Response.

The following shows the procedure for simplified registration of the IE scenario measurement conditions into the measurement condition registration file.

  1. In the IE Recorder (main) window, from the Tools, choose the Simplified Registration.

The measurement conditions of the IE scenario are registered into the measurement condition registration file.

  2. From the Tools, choose the Edit esptask.xml.

You can check and edit the information that is registered in the measurement condition registration file. If you edit the measurement condition registration file in the IE Recorder (main) window, you must stop PFM - Agent for Service Response. Thus, Hitachi recommends that you edit the registration file in PFM - Web Console, instead of the IE Recorder.

For details about editing the measurement condition registration file in PFM - Web Console, see 4.7.3 Setting the Task information.

For details about the measurement condition registration file, see 8.3 Measurement condition registration file (esptask.xml).
