6.3 Creating a server

To operate a J2EE server by using Eclipse, you must create first create the server configuration information such as the J2EE server name and runtime environment. This configuration information is called the server. Creating this server enables you to operate the J2EE server by using Eclipse.

To create the server:

  1. From the Eclipse menu bar, choose File, New, and then Other.
    The New dialog box appears.
  2. Select Server, Server, and then click the Next button.
    The New Server page of the New Server dialog box appears.

  3. Specify the following items:
    Item name Specified value
    Select the server type Select the type of server to be created. To use the WTP connector, choose Cosminexus, and then J2EE server.
    Server name No settings are required, as the value set on the J2EE Server page is used.
    Server runtime environment Specify Cosminexus J2EE server runtime.
  4. Click the Next button.
    The J2EE Server page appears.

  5. Select the connection destination host in the Connection Host section of the Remote Management. If you are not logged in, click the Login button.
    The connection destination J2EE server appears. If you set up the J2EE server with Development Environment Instant Setup, the following name is displayed.
    cmx_InstantWebSystem_unit1_J2EE_01
  6. Select the J2EE server and click the Finish button.
    The created Cosminexus J2EE server appears in the Server view.
