2.8.2 Unsetting up the Eclipse environment

You use the Eclipse setup functionality to unset up the environment that is built with the Eclipse setup functionality.

The following table lists the items that are to be deleted for executing the unsetup using the Eclipse setup functionality.

Table 2-6 Items to be deleted for executing the unsetup using the Eclipse setup functionality

Item To be deleted or not to be deleted
Eclipse Platform To be deleted#1
Eclipse configuration folder (user-wise folder) Not to be deleted#2
Eclipse workspace Not to be deleted
Eclipse shortcut To be deleted

#1
Including the user created file, all the data in the target folder is deleted.

#2
Eclipse generates the configuration folder and the workspace. Therefore, the configuration folder and the workplace are not deleted, even if you execute the unsetup using the Eclipse setup functionality. For deleting the configuration folder and the workspace, delete manually. For details on the manual deletion, see (2) Manual unset up.

This subsection describes the procedure to unset up using the Eclipse setup functionality.

For details on uninstalling and re-installing Developer before unsetting up the built environment using the Eclipse setup functionality, see (2) Manual unset up.

Note
End Eclipse, before executing the unsetup. If you execute the unsetup process while Eclipse is running, the Eclipse installation directory is not deleted. Note that if the Eclipse installation directory remains after the unsetup, manually delete the directory and files below Eclipse-installation-directory\eclipse.

    Confirming the unsetup process
You can check the setup log to confirm the unsetup process. For details on how to confirm the setup log, see Appendix E.4 Collecting the information when executing the Development Environment Instant Setup functionality and Eclipse setup functionality.

Note
If you execute the unsetup in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista, the eclipse.exe shortcut that is added to the Desktop during the setup is deleted; however, the shortcut might remain displayed as it is on the Desktop, as if it was not deleted. In such cases, if you refresh the Desktop, the shortcut will be deleted on the Desktop.

(2) Manual unsetup

For uninstalling and re-installing Developer before unsetting up the built environment using the Eclipse setup functionality, manually unset up the environment using the following procedure:

  1. Delete the Eclipse shortcut.
The administrator deletes the following file:
    For Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Eclipse.lnk
For Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista
    C:\Users\Public\Desktop\Eclipse.lnk
  2. Delete the configuration folder of Eclipse.
For details on the folder location, see the description related to the Eclipse version in 2.4.1 Notes for executing the Eclipse setup functionality.
  3. Delete the Eclipse folder.
The default folder location is as follows:
    Developer-installation-directory\ADP\IDE\eclipse
