2.3.2 Notes on executing Development Environment Instant Setup functionality

This subsection describes notes on using the Development Environment Instant Setup functionality to create the debug environment.

Organization of this subsection
(1) Windows security alert
(2) Directories and files under the <Developer installation directory>/ADP
(3) Specify the Management Server Management User
(4) When specifying the debug environment with localhost settings

(1) Windows security alert

If the Windows Security Alert dialog box is displayed while Development Environment Instant Setup is being executed, you must click the Unblock button or the Allow access button.

(2) Directories and files under the <Developer installation directory>/ADP

Do not delete and rename the directories and files under the Developer-installation-directory/ADP while executing Development Environment Instant Setup.

(3) Specify the Management Server Management User

To use the debug environment that is set up with Development Environment Instant Setup from another PC (remote host), specify Enable authentication for the management user authentication in the Management Server Management User settings. If you specify Disabled authentication, the usage of the debug environment will be limited only to the local host.

(4) When specifying the debug environment with localhost settings

If you build a debug environment with localhost settings, you can use the built debug environment as it is, even if the IP address and the host name are changed. This subsection describes the notes to be considered when building a debug environment with localhost settings.

(a) Changing host name or IP address

If you change a host computer name or the IP address of a PC (local host), the communication with the remote management functionality is not allowed. To reset the communication information with the remote management functionality, re-start the OS.

(b) Customizing the built environment with localhost settings

If the environment that is built with localhost settings is customized by adding the management portal, do not change the IP address and the host name.

Developer does not support operations when copying plug-ins other than the plug-in provided by Developer and the workspace of Eclipse.

(c) localhost-specific settings

To specify the host name of an embedded database as localhost, make sure to set up localhost as per the loop back address.

You set up the Web system host name and agent host name specific to localhost. In such cases, if you execute the setup reading of the SFO server or J2EE server using the management portal [environment setting of logical server], some items are updated with default settings and you are required to re-set up the values after executing the setup reading. For details, see the uCosminexus Application Server Management Portal User Guide.

(d) Switching to the standard debug environment

You cannot switch this environment to the standard debug environment. To switch to the standard debug environment, re-set up the debug environment.
