6.4.2 Saving and printing chat messages

You can save chat messages in files and print them. The procedure used to save and print chat messages is as follows:

(1) Saving

  1. Choose File and then Save.
    The Save As dialog box opens.
  2. Specify the path, file name, and file type.
    For the file type, select one of the following three file types:
    Text file (*.txt)
    Saves the chat contents in a text-format file. All information displayed in the chat view is saved.
    Rich text file (*.rtf)
    Saves the chat contents in a rich-text-format file. All information displayed in the chat view and its format information (fonts and colors) are saved.
    All files (*.*)
    Saves the chat contents in a text-format file. You can specify any file extension.
  3. Click the Save button.
    The chat messages are saved in a file with the specified file name.

If you save chat messages, continue the chat session, and exit without saving the updated chat messages, a message is displayed, prompting you to save the chat messages.

(2) Printing

  1. Choose File and then Print.
    The Print dialog box opens.
  2. Specify the necessary parameters such as the output printer and number of copies.
    The print range is fixed to All.
  3. Click the OK button.
    The contents of the Chat view area are printed as specified by the parameters.
