5.3.3 Notes on issuing connection requests

The following are notes related to issuing connection requests to a controller.

Organization of this subsection
(1) Relationship with ordinary connections
(2) Notes on security

(1) Relationship with ordinary connections

You can issue a connection request while activating the agent. Conversely, you can activate the agent while issuing a connection request. If you issue a connection request from an agent while ordinarily waiting for a connection request from the controller, both the Agent icon and the Request icon are displayed on the task bar.

(2) Notes on security

On agents, you can specify two types of security -- address authentication (permitted controllers) and user authentication (user IDs and passwords). However, user authentication is only available when you issue a connection request from an agent.
