Job Management Partner 1/Remote Control Description and Operator's Guide
4.7.2 Items to be noted when connecting to a Windows Me or Windows 98 agent
- The controller cannot send the Num Lock key to the agent.
- You cannot send the Ctrl + Alt + Delete key operation from the keyboard to the agent. To perform a forced termination of an application that has hung or to shut down the agent PC, click the Ctrl + Alt + Del tool button in the Remote Control window.
- You cannot send the Ctrl + Esc or Windows key operation from the keyboard to the agent. Use the action key facility.
- When the Close Program dialog box appears on the agent, the controller user cannot operate the agent.
- Even if the agent is in the view mode, the controller user cannot inhibit key input for an MS-DOS prompt.
- If the agent displays an MS-DOS prompt in full-screen, the controller cannot view the agent screen. When the remote control facility is in use, the agent must show an MS-DOS prompt in the window.
- Even if a cursor is shown in color on the agent it will be displayed in black and white on the controller.
- The controller may be unable to view graphics images, created on the agent using Direct X (Direct Draw) or OpenGL.
- Animation data generally has a large volume of data, and thus places an excessive burden on the network. When using the remote control facility you should disable any animation on the agent.
- When you connect to an agent while the screen requesting you to enter a network password is displayed, and execute a reboot/shutdown operation from the controller before actually logging on to the network, the operation may not be processed correctly. Make sure to perform the reboot/shutdown operation after logging on to the network.
- If you change the settings in Color Palette (from the Settings page in the Display Properties dialog box displayed from Control Panel) of the agent machine, you need to restart the Windows system on the agent machine. Otherwise, screen colors of the agent will display incorrectly on the controller machine.
- If an application that uses DirectDraw is running on the agent (such as a Java2 application), that application cannot be viewed from the controller. In this case, first exit the application, and then restart the agent.
- If the controller connects to an agent on which a DirectDraw-based application (such as a Java2 application) is running, you cannot view the screens of that application from the controller. To solve this problem, terminate the application and then restart the agent.
- When the controller attempts to reconnect to an agent that has not recognized the controller's disconnection operation, the Double Connection dialog box appears. If this dialog box appears, disconnect, then reconnect the agent.
- If the agent is configured to start automatically, the encryption function on the agent may be unavailable after you install Internet Explorer and restart the operating system. In this case, restart the operating system or the agent again.
- The mouse operation may not always work in 16-bit applications. When operating 16-bit applications, do not use the mouse.
- The agent does not support the multidisplay (multiple monitors) function.
