3.4.8 Memory settings (for Windows Me and Windows 98)

You can configure memory to be used by Remote Control Agent.

Using an application(s) which requires a large amount of memory on an agent running on Windows Me or Windows 98, may cause the machine to stop due to lack of memory. To prevent this, you can define the maximum amount of memory Remote Control Agent can use. The program will then automatically abandon any drawing command if the operation cannot be completed within the set amount of memory.

The dialog box for configuring the memory is shown below. This dialog box appears only on agents running on Windows Me or Windows 98. In the Remote Control Agent - Properties dialog box, the Memory Settings page serves as this dialog box.

Use default settings (Recommended)
Uses the Remote Control Agent's default value to manage memory. Usually, select this option.

Customize memory allocation
Specify the maximum memory size, and the interval for resuming the use of memory when the system runs out of memory.
Memory size allocated when starting Remote Control Agent
Specify the maximum amount of memory Remote Control Agent can use (in megabytes). The minimum value is 2 megabytes, and the default is 5 megabytes. The maximum value is not fixed, but equates to one third of the agent's total available memory. The value specified here will become the memory size to be secured at the startup of the agent. Make sure to configure what is required.
When memory is short, the drawing window waits for the specified interval
Specify the interval for resuming the use of memory when the system has a memory shortage. Use an integer from 0 to 3,600 (seconds). The default interval is 5 seconds. Setting a long interval will extend the period of time when screen drawing data is not transmitted to the agent.
