3.3.12 Dial-up Settings page

The Dial-up Settings page allows you to set up the connection destination at the time of a dialup connection. This page is shown in the environment where Dial-Up Networking (Remote Access Service) is installed.

To use the automatic dialing facility, you need to configure Windows Dial-Up Networking or Remote Access Service. For the controller, you can start the Dial-Up Networking (Remote Access Service) directly from the Dial-up Settings page and modify settings.

The Dial-up Settings page is shown below.

When using the automatic dialing facility, select the Use dial-up connection check box and configure the settings described in (1) and (2) below. Note that you can only set up one dialing destination. If the dialing destination varies from agent to agent, you need to change settings each time the dialing destination changes.

Organization of this subsection
(1) List of destination agents
(2) Define Windows dial-up network

(1) List of destination agents

Lists all the entries registered in the current telephone book. Select one of them as the connection destination.

Choose Details button to display the Details dialog box. You can specify the following items in this dialog box.

(a) Connection page

This page allows you to set up detailed information related to connection and disconnection.

Retrying dial-up connection
Select this check box to enable automatic redialing when an attempt to make a dialup connection fails. You can specify the number of retries and their interval. This check box is cleared by default.
Number of retries
Specify the number of retries as an integer from 1 to 5 (attempts). The default is 3 attempts.
Retry interval
Specify the retry interval as an integer from 10 to 180 (seconds). The default is 30 seconds.

Disconnect when the remote control stops
Select this check box when you want to sever the dialup connection upon completion of remote control operations (when disconnecting from the agent). This option is selected by default.
If you clear this check box, a dialup connection will be severed when Remote Control Manager is terminated (when the Remote Control window is closed).
(b) Logon page

The Logon page allows you to set up logon information to be used when establishing a dialup connection.

Save authentication information
Select this check box when you want to save authentication information. Saving the information will allow you to omit the logon procedure when establishing a connection. This option is cleared by default.
If you select this check box you must enter a user name, password, and domain of the logon user. Omitting these values will cause the system to assume the current user name, password, and domain remain valid.

(2) Define Windows dial-up network

In this area of the Dial-up Settings page in the Property dialog box you can directly add, modify, or delete the settings for the Dial-Up Networking (Remote Access Service) of the OS.

New
Adds a new connection destination, using Windows functionality.

Edit
Edits the information of the entry selected in the List of destination agents section.

Delete
Deletes the entry selected in the List of destination agents section.

The operations of the New, Edit, and Delete buttons in this area will directly modify the settings in the OS. Any changes you make will immediately take effect even if you choose Cancel in the Properties dialog box.
